“I enjoyed my visit today. I ordered the lunch special (meat, side, cornbread) and chose brisket and sweet potato. The brisket had great flavor, though next time I'll ask for leaner pieces as mine was fatty. Sweet potatoes were just right, not too sweet. Cornbread just ok. Things to know: 1. This place is tiny. There are just 4 bar seats and that's it. 2. Beverage options limited. Coke, sprite, water. 3. The service is amazingly friendly and personable. I didn't get the woman's name behind the counter but I'd go back there just to hang out with her. And it wasn't just me, she was that way with every customer including a 4 year old. You don't need to travel to come here but it's a good stop if you are nearby. Just 2 blocks off the Locust Valley train station.”
“Piñons has such a fun atmosphere and the staff is great. They have delicious pizza but you must try the fantastic kale salad! Definitely recommend sitting at the bar- you always meet great people!”
“Another wonderful meal at The Brass Rail. The extensive menu offers many very choices. Food is always beautifully prepared and delicious. Sevice is warm and friendly. Always a great experience.”
“Excellent service. i've been ordering delicious hot sandwiches to be delivered to my father during Covid. Clear and quick on phone, exceptionally speedy from order to door and often confirm delivery. Dad is very happy with the meals. I am very very grateful.”
“Quaint little 8 table restaurant serving up some sizable and authentic mexican dishes. Doesn’t hurt it also offers a beautiful beach front view of Long Island sound. The cocktails are prepared well, appetizers fresh and if I must say, the carne asada is mind blowing good.I’ve been coming here for few years now and the friendly atmosphere makes it all worth while. It’s a bit out of the way, but trust me, they’re worth the trip.”
“Nice beach club that's part of a country club. They have a full service bar, dining room, and patio. The sand is pretty rocky though, which is typical of north shore beaches. If you're into this sort of thing you'll love it.”
“Sweet coffee shop nestled a few feet from the train tracks. Quaint shop with artistic aesthetics. A simple menu with variety of drinks. I opted for the hot chocolate and it did not disappoint. Packed with flavor and made me with genuine care. This shop has the ambiance of artsy and also grabbing a caffeinated drink with a friend. There are seats overlooking the Locust Valley streets. I recommend you try the hot chocolate and don’t forget the whip ❤️”
“My wife and I went out to lunch today in Locust Valley, NY. Last July, the LVI Bistro changed owners. Marcel has owned the restaurant for over 40 years. They had an excellent reputation and their food and serve was always high quality. This was our first visit since the change and we found it was quite good. We sat down in the bar room and was greeted by the new manager, Andrea. He was very nice and gave us their new menus. Everything looked great from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts. My wife wanted something light, so she ordered a Cesar salad with grilled chicken strips. I ordered a hamburger with fries. Rita, a waitress from the previous owner, chatted with us about the change and was very positive. There is a new chef, who prepares the food and has a quick turnaround. Both our meals were delicious and were served hot. We talked with the manager and he told us they were going to decorate and renovate the formal dining, the upstairs dining area and the bar room area. We were excited that this local restaurant was getting some loving care from the new owners. We enjoyed our lunch time and enjoyed our experience at the LVI Bistro. When we asked for the check, Andrea brought a dish of tiramisu with two spoons. He told us the desserts were all homemade. It was excellent and was a great way to end our meal. This is a new LVI Bistro and they made a great first impression on both of us. If you're in the Locust Valley area please make some time and try the new LVI Bistro. The service, the food and the atmosphere is great for a meal with two or ten people. Travel safely and keep healthy. We wish the new owners much success in the future. Best wishes.”
“First time ordering food from here...My husband and I were happily surprised. The food is very tasty...the portions are large and the price is very reasonable. Will definitely be ordering again.”
“They run a tight ship here- it’s the cleanest, friendliest deli around with top notch food. They’re great about accommodating food allergies and special requests. They learn your name and greet you with a smile. Worth every penny.Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating of my gluten allergy.”
“We have been eating at Buck's for years. It is our favorite local restaurant. The staff is always so kind and overly accommodating and the food is always delicious and consistent.”
“Basil Leaf Cafe is not a venue you stumble upon while on a Sunday drive; you must deliberately drive to Locust Valley on the north shore of Long Island. But boy, is it worth it! On the evening my friends and I ate there, we were seated in the second building: a cottage adjacent to the main restaurant. The table settings and decor were perfect for the space. Our table was located in a corner and seating was comfortable, with table linens that smelled fresh from the laundry. Our server arrived swiftly and our glasses were filled with water, menus given, and drink orders taken. She read the daily specials to us, which included a pistachio ricotta cake and halibut, both of which I ordered. THE GROWS: It was a hot and humid evening. There was AC, but the vents were located at the peak of the ceiling, between two beams, and the air did not reach the corners of the room. Most of us at my table were uncomfortably hot. We asked if they could turn up the air or close the door so the cool air didn't seep out, but the uncomfortable heat put a damper on our evening. Normally I order coffee with my dessert, but I was so warm that I skipped it. THE GLOWS: The baked clams were whole with toasted breadcrumbs and an accompanying sauce with the perfect consistency to both coat the clams and dip your bread. The halibut special was parmesan crusted and served over spinach; the kitchen happily swapped out the spinach for escarole for me (I love both, but their escarole is something I order all the time because I love how it is prepared). The pistachio ricotta cake was the perfect fusion of a very light whipped ricotta with fresh pistachio flavors. For this foodie, I highly recommend this as a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a meal with those you love.”
“Trying to pick a place for brunch I saw this place and was like this looks perfect! No wifi which is probably a good thing but not good for a child lol, he got over it. Our food was good. Service was good though she brought waffles out instead of pancakes for our boy, not a big deal except for our picky boy lol who was like yucky! Despite the fact he loves waffles at home, as long as they are ego waffles (lemme roll my eyes) they looked amazing here but our 5 year old did not care lol. He loved his pancakes once brought out :) such a cute place and I really wanna come back during the holidays.”
“Food is excellent every time however the portion sizes are ridiculous. If you’re charging $17 for a bowl I expect more than half a spoon of rice. The workers behind the counter are almost always oblivious and are not usually friendly. It’s a shame since the food is so good and this can easily be a 5 star spot.”
“Very high quality food. This is not your regular China town dim sum if you're looking for that ( it is fancier dim sum) Very clean environment. A bit pricy but well worth it. Every dish was delicious.”
“Food is delicious and great size portions. The service is excellent. Erdom and Aziz were so kind and helpful. The atmosphere is quiet and lovely. Very clean and bright. Went a week ago and returned a few days later because my 1st experience was so great. Marion”
“I wanted to know if this would live up to it's high rating so decided to give it a try. I went on a Wednesday at 11:30am. There is parking across the street, behind the building. It's municipal 1 hour free parking. There is metered 2 hour parking in the front. While we were there, we were the only dine in customers. They were doing a lot of take out. We had the dumplings and the ramen. There was a lot of ramen. The pork was tender and juicy. The egg was creamy and not at all salty. The broth was the star. It was flavorful but not salty. It had depth. I could do with less oil but that's a tiny complaint. It lived up to the hype.Parking: Free one hour parking across the street. Metered two hour parking in the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Tight but doable.”
“This place is the best. Best tender meat and great flavor. chicken barg and beef barg are great. The rest of the meat types are also good. The white sauce and green sauce are top notch. This is my favorite restaurant in the US.”
“Food is soooo good. Staff are all very sweet especially Sarah H. She made sure that we were well taken care of. It was such a cute place. ?would highly recommend ?.”
“We ordered the food for takeout, and Don Chuys sure did not disappoint. We got a shrimp and beef chimichanga, side of chips and churros for dessert. The chimichangas were a pretty big size, we were able to save half for dinner. The churros were the perfect taste and consistency. All super delicious!! The salsa is homemade as well as the chips. Can’t wait to try other items from their menu.”
“Love this place! Our favorite seafood place for the past 34 years!Parking: The parking stinks always has. Valet is okay, didn't use. They were busy. We had to park across Wantagh Avenue, in front of residential property.”
“Consistently amazing food and service! Always a wonderful meal and fun experience. Tables are close together, but everyone is so friendly, that adds to the fun vibe. This continues to be our favorite restaurant. Menu is creative and outstanding!”
“Seasons 52 is an absolute culinary delight, embodying the essence of fine dining with a refreshing twist. With its impeccable cuisine, commitment to freshness, and outstanding service, dining here is a culinary journey you'll want to embark on again and again.”
“This Sunday afternoon was my first time there and it was almost my last because the man who seated us was cold, unfriendly, unwelcoming, and even went so far as to make a rude comment while seating us. Thank Goodness for Clay our server. I will return so long as I am seated in his section. He was immediately friendly…he was extremely knowledgeable about the food & assisted myself and my guest with cooking our different meats. He was positive and upbeat despite his back injury and a job where he is on his feet all day. As I ate my food, I observed Clay giving the exact same level of exceptional service to each of his tables. I am impressed by his enthusiasm and I hope that his employers recognize his hard work, his attitude, as well as his warm & welcoming nature. Perhaps you could have Clay coach the other servers on your staff about customer service and overall basic human decency.”
“Dinner was so good I don't know where to begin.. Pulled pork sliders were a special and they were the best we have ever eaten. Everything about them was perfection! Garganelli alla Norma was also a special and melted in your mouth. The combination of the eggplant and creamy house made ricotta was just incredible. We also had the grilled marinated shrimp (biggest shrimp I have ever seen) with grilled eggplant and roasted fennel. Also a terrific dish. Thank you Joe for another perfect evening!”
“Appetizer was good. However, didn’t really enjoy the Dosa personally. Lemon Soda was just not refreshing personally. I would like to visit again to try out the other items from their menu.”
“Amazing restaurant. Very friendly, attentive and customer-centered staff. Food and service were both excellent - even received a tiramisu on the house for my anniversary! Definitely worth a try!”
“Food was great. I had the tuna entree and the mezcal mixed drink. Overall had a great time. The price per entree was steep and the mixed drinks cost $20 each.”
“Finally! A good quality Kosher dairy restaurant in greatneck! Although it’s called Dagim they have way more non fish options than you’d think a restaurant specializing in delicious sushi and fish would have. Everything was amazing. I never had fish that fresh in my life. Service was good the ambiance made you feel like you were dining somewhere in Manhattan. Definitely will be coming back to Dagim!!!Vegetarian options: They had great pastas to choose from, the appetizers and salads were greatKid-friendliness: I had to bring my baby, although we were a small group, they made sure to give us a table big enough where a stroller would fit and we would still be able to dine comfortably”
“We held a private event for about 25 people last weekend in the upstairs space at Two25 and I could not have been more pleased! Leading up to our event, Andrea was very helpful and responsive, and the rest of the staff was just as incredible day-of. They were attentive to us and our guests (adults and children alike), regularly checking in to make sure everything was going well and everyone had what they needed. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was fantastic. It was the perfect place for our event, and we'll absolutely be back next time we're in the area!”
