“I do take out from Sweet Mandarin in Glen Cove and i have never gotten a bad meal or experience. They are the Very Best in Glen Cove“

“At first it might feel like a generic take out spot, and to be fair it is, however as I waited for my order and went ahead and ordered more, I noticed something very strange. I was patient, polite but also direct with what I wanted and communicated it well. At the end, I left with a smile on my face because they reciprocated all of the things I mentioned and then some by making sure I got enough sauces and thanked me three times. It is the little things that makes you return to a business and I sure will. They have $10 card minimum but take cash. My total was $16 for a double sautéed pork and fried rice combo the side and something similar but with shrimp with lobster sauce. I was happy to leave them the $20 and was on my way to enjoy the food. Overall it was a great experience so I think anyone patient enough should give this place a try.

Parking: You can park on the lot that the store stands on or park along the street that has ample parking for almost 6 cars.

Kid-friendliness: Enough seating for people to sit and eat, wait for their food for takeout, or come and go so there is no problem to bring your kids along.“

“I had an amazing experience here! The food was incredible honestly, even better than what I’ve had in the city. I’ve been to many places that serve similar dishes, but this restaurant completely exceeded my expectations. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and arrived surprisingly quickly.

The service was just as outstanding as the food. Our server was so kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful conversation with her as she shared stories about her life and explained each dish to us. She frequently stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed, which made us feel genuinely cared for.

One of the most heartwarming parts of our visit was meeting their daughter, who was selling handmade bracelets to save money for college. It was such a wholesome touch and made the experience even more memorable.

“I came for dinner and ordered the General Tso's Chicken combo platter. The portions were generous and tasted really good. The staff is friendly, and my order was confirmed once more before payment. It really shows how careful the staff are with their job.“

I originally went to pickup a togoodtogo order and ended up placing a second order because everything just looked so good. Everything I got in the togoodtogo order was amazing and it was a nice variety it had a bag of goldfish as an extra treat which my kids enjoyed. The soup and chicken were delicious, with a broth made from fresh coconut that added a wonderful depth of flavor. Once seated, service was prompt - tea is on the house. You get equipped with a tea cup, a ladle and bowl, and a side plate. We asked Google Maps AI on what to order - and loved the suggestions. We went with the House Special crossing-the-bridge rice noodles. It's basically a hot pot, just that it's served on an elaborate wooden tray. Lamb skewers were dry, soft, flavorful. Shanghai soup dumplings were steaming hot - I'm partial to soup dumplings anyway so I loved them. Fried rice and Tujia sauce scallion pancakes were loved across the table. Shrimp tempura was freshly fried in fresh oil. Popcorn chicken kept the picky eaters happy. Papaya salad was spicy.

We skipped dessert.

Overall - a wonderful dinner experience, by far the best restaurant in that particular shopping complex (there are several sharing the same parking lot). Would love to return!“

“We got here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon just before it got busy. It’s a small and tight space with friendly service. The best things we tried were the shrimp rice rolls and watercress dumplings in pork bone soup - absolutely well made and really delicious. The quality and execution of the food today was much better than our previous visits. Highly recommend for a casual lunch spot.“

“A lot of regional Chinese places can be tough for vegetarians, but Yunnan food relies heavily on wild mushrooms, flowers, and fresh greens. The stir-fried jasmine flower buds with scrambled eggs were delicate and floral, and the cold rice noodle salad with peanut sauce and chili oil was refreshing and perfectly balanced. The ambiance is gorgeous too, with lots of dark wood and warm lighting.“

“My wife and I come here together regularly, and it’s one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. Our strategy is always to order 5 or 6 different dishes, enjoy a great meal, and take the leftovers home for dinner the next day. The portions are very generous, so it works out perfectly.

Our must-order dishes are the Berkshire pork belly, honey cucumber, rock shrimp, braised pork belly, wood ear mushrooms, hot and sour soup, fish in wine, Emperor’s cabbage, Sichuan beef shank & tendon, and Chinese broccoli. I order the Berkshire pork belly every single time.

If you enjoy spicy food, definitely try the chili oil stew with beef. Just be warned—the bowl is huge! It’s incredibly flavorful and absolutely worth it.

The waitstaff are always knowledgeable and happy to explain the menu, which is especially helpful if you’re trying something new. The interior has a beautiful, authentic Chinese atmosphere that really adds to the experience.

“Four Four South Village in Bayside on Bell Blvd is so new, I literally had to put it on the map! They have a restaurant in Flushing and also a location in Canada. I stopped in for dinner and ordered the spicy beef noodle (#204) and the Taiwanese sausage. Service is great! Very friendly and attentive. They checked up on me and kept my tea cup full. My order came out quickly. The sausage was pan fried and had the perfect crisp to the casing and also came with a small side of pickled cucumber. I opted for a non broth noodle dish which has bok choy to the side, slices of tender beef and the chili sauce poured over. You need to mix everything together which allows you to control the amount of sauce to your liking. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice chew to them. Really good food!
Also tried the beef and tendon noodle soup. This beef, tendon & noodle soup is a great combination and tastes delicious! I devoured the bowl and could have had another bowl.“

“Chen's has become our go to Chinese take out for the last few years and for good reason. The hard working owners are always friendly and the quality and portions are always the best. Try the curry chicken, chow fun or the hot and sour soup. All are terrific!“

“I mainly order take out and service is always prompt, the food always tasty and consistent Everytime. The Singapore noodles and shredded chicken with green chiles are my go to dishes and I’m never disappointed and it always hits the spot. They always respect my modifications regarding no beef or pork in the noodles and the dish is still tasty. The staff is so nice too. The inside is always clean, parking easy. Prices are worth the portions, even with 3 people eating the 2 entrees we always have leftovers for at least 1 more meal. “Such a great little spot. The restaurant is clean and lovingly decorated, with photos of the staff and (I assume) their family and friends along one wall. A karaoke machine sits in one corner, which makes me think this is a place where happy memories have been made. The staff were super kind, they were out of some things I wanted but I was really happy with everything I got instead. The kung po chicken is vivid and flavorful, I loved how tender the chicken was and the sichuan numbing spice never disappoints. The wood ear mushroom appetizer was delightfully crunchy and soaked in a lightly spiced garlic and cilantro sauce. I loved how flakey and flavorful the scallion pancake was. I grabbed a yogurt drink and found it to be very yummy, lightly sweetened with matcha and fruity flavors. Whatever else they were cooking, everything on other peoples tables, all of it smelled and looked so good! Familial, vibrant, and simply delicious.“
