We were unfortunately pretty disappointed in our stay. The rooms were not very well cleaned. There was mold in the bathrooms around the sinks and bath; this was the first issue.Next, our TV was not working. We tried connecting it to the guest wifi, and that did not work. When we called, they said they would send someone to look at it, but that never happened. I called again the next day and was told it would only work if I connected it to my own cellphone data. Not only is this outrageous for a hotel, but it did not even work when we tried it.Finally, on Friday night, there was a construction crew that was very loudly demoing a room right across from us. Normally, I would not mind, but they were still going at 10pm!!! We had three kids that kept being woken up by loud banging and blaring music. I finally decided to call the front desk at 10pm, and they told me it would only be another 15 minutes. Personally, I feel a hotel should just not have allowed it to happen that late in the first place. However, it proceeded to go only until close to 11 when I finally came out and started video recording for evidence of how loud it all actually was. They noticed what I was doing and quickly packed up after that.We were even told we would receive some credit for our bill, and that didn't happen.

Once grand Long Island estate now reduced to shabby wedding palace, conference center worthy of Dunder Mifflin and dreary, charmless rooms. It all goes downhill from the Grand Entrance, beginning with the incompetent check in -- it took several days, emails and phone calls to finally find someone capable of sorting out the mess they made of my bookings.Sad, dark brick bedrooms are Soviet style -- no effort made -- en route down endless corridors, a Japanese themed glassed in smokers garden, old butts among the raked gravel, a nice touch.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding nearby. I was looking forward to relaxing in the room and for it to be nice. Not really the case. Was fine for just sleeping but not much more, and definitely didn't feel worth the price. This seems like a very popular place for other events like weddings, bar mitzvahs, and parties. There were multiple going on that we walked right through getting to and from our room morning and night. The room itself was dated and very much in need of a refresh. Though it appeared we were perhaps in a renovated room based on what another person told us. Unclear what exact renovations are happening (or have happened). There was peeling paint and just lots of wear across the room and the bathroom. The floors had no rugs and nothing other than a TV hanging on the wall so it felt very echo-y and loud in the room on the seemingly cheap laminate flooring. Could hear everything out in the hallway outside the door.

Our experience here was nothing short of exceptional. I don't understand how some reviewers felt otherwise. My wife and I renewed our vows at The Mansion at Glen Cove on Oct 20th, 2023. It was basically a wedding celebration. The event coordinator, Astrid, was the best! She was so attentive to detail, and was always available to talk to us about anything during the planning phases leading up to our event. She truly seems to love her job and wants peoples events to be perfect. The Maitre D, Mike, was the man. His attention to detail was spot on. From making sure everyone looked there best, to making sure the space was decorated and organized perfectly, to keeping the timing and schedule on point. We had some very last minute changes we needed, and there were no complaints, just fast problem solving. His attitude was light hearted, but focused. The food was also INCREDIBLE. I've NEVER been to a wedding or coordinated event where the food was so good. The head chef went out of his way to accent the Colombian roots of my wife and her family when he did NOT have to. His staff were all friendly, and he was very reachable for questions prior to our event. The cake he made was also gorgeous. The bridal attendant for my wife was also so on top of things. She was there for absolutely ANYTHING my wife needed. She intuitively knew when to fix the dress for photos and went above and beyond to make sure my wife didn't have to stress about anything.I know I'm forgetting to single some people out and I feel awful about it. There are at least 2 or 3 other people that really did a truly wonderful job to make this day perfect for us and our guests both on the day, and leading up to it.Now of course, I have to mention the Mansion itself. This place is a work of art. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms of the mansion itself is like historical art. Its truly a special place. We stayed in both the honeymoon suit, which was a large, gorgeous room with a soaking tub, and a luxury double room which was more like a nice, typical hotel room. I've read some reviews that were disappointed in the rooms. I understand they are remodeling many rooms so maybe those people got old rooms? Ours and that of our guests were exactly what you'd expect of a standard luxury hotel room.I've also seen some reviews comment on the remodeling upgrades, saying it negatively impacted their stay. This is silly. The mansion sends out emails and even has a print out upon check in explaining what they are trying to accomplish with the remodeling. During our event, the pool and spa weren't available due to this. Who cares? I think it's unfair to give a place a poor review because they are actively working to improve their amenities. The ONLY negative of our entire experience there, was that there were a few times that the front desk was not on the same page as the rest of the staff. They weren't rude, they were doing their job, they just weren't aware of who we were, or what was going on. Nothing that can't be addressed. It's important all staff are on the same page, especially if someone is having a special event and has pre-made arrangements.Anyway, the overall feeling is that my wife and I wish we could have an experience like what the mansion provided for us every weekend if we could! It was truly perfect and we are so grateful to all the staff and everyone that made it possible. We will definitely be recommending the Mansion to people in the future and can't wait to use them again for our next event, or even for a weekend getaway. Thanks!Rooms: Updated rooms were extremely nice, and the honeymoon suit is beautifulNearby activities: Lots of nice things. to do nearby. NYC is 45m away, the beach is close, and there are farmers markets and nice restaurants a plentySafety: felt extremely safeFood & drinks: Food was exceptionalNoteworthy details: The dining and event staff are exceptional

I had my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah service here oct 7, 2023. I paid a lot to have a nice breakfast after. I went over the menu (no bacon or ham) turkey bacon and turkey sausage, fresh bagels, omelettes, cream challah French toast, muffins etc. What I got was cold what looked like Thomas bagels just plain, no tomatoes or onions, no cooked turkey bacon or turkey sausage but regular bacon for the omelette and ham. ?!? When I asked to do a dessert menu I was told to go to the bakery. Also there were ants on the dessert table when I was cleaning up what I brought. I booked 4 rooms. We all woke up to ants. Ants on the floor the bed. All I got was oops. Sorry. I was told I would get a 600 refund from the breakfast I booked since it wasn’t good. It’s been almost a month and I’m still getting the run around. Not sure what happened I did my so’s here five years ago and it was great, but that woman isn’t running the show anymore. Never again. Run. Don’t book.Rooms: I said it

Comfortable rooms, pleasant desk staff, and a beautiful mansion. Unfortunately for business use (wedding) this was not a pleasant experience...Since we were staying here for the couple's wedding (which did not take place on-site) and the couple were getting ready in their respective hotel rooms (329 and 331). My company was responsible for filming their wedding and getting ready footage. The bride mentioned we couldn't take any shots outside of their room because there was another bride who would be taking photos since they were having their wedding at The Mansion. The problem that we had with this is that even if it didn't interfere with the bride whose wedding was happening at The Mansion, we couldn't take videos (and the photographer couldn't take photos) of our bride walking down the hall going out to the limo. The photographer (who wasn't part of our team) was approached by two associates in the hallway by the elevator down the hall from the entrance. I didn't hear what the altercation was but the man seemed very nasty saying that she wasn't allowed to take any photos. The photographer was upset at how she was being treated and the man literally escorted our bride out standing between her and the photographer until we were outside. He then stayed with us and escorted the bride to the limo. It felt like we were trespassing and not allowed to be there which put an extremely bad spin on what should've been a very happy day. Who cares if there's a few photos of the bride walking down the hall that's not interfering with anyone else? The photographer wasn't staging anything or setting up any lights or involving anyone else in the bridal party. It was literally a few shots of her walking down the hall (not even stopping to pose), so none of us saw the problem with what was going on. I have no idea if there was a contract involved with our bride and The Mansion, but sad to say that the way that everyone was treated was disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely uncalled for. The bride and groom paid for several hotel rooms for themselves and we paid for our own room so I would've thought there would've been some leniency for staying. Maybe for a leisure stay, this would be a great place to sleep but if you're working a wedding that's not part of the Mansion, be mindful of restrictions.Walkability: Be prepared to walk a lot to get to certain rooms. Our room was 324 and it took about 3 minutes to walk to the room because it's a very long walkway and not based on height.

The outer aesthetics of the hotel were beautiful and the location was great but my boyfriend and I were horrified to wake up in the morning to see a swarm of ants all over the desk, our clothes, bag and floor. They were swarming a bag of candied almonds we got as a wedding favor which were unopened. When I spoke to the front desk about it, the manager said that sometimes if food AND drink are left out that happens. They said it was because they are surrounded by grass. I thought it was a poor response. I’ve been to plenty of hotels surrounded by grass and not one ant was ever seen. This was hundreds and our room wasn’t on the ground floor! They have an infestation that isn’t being addressed and their cavalier response was almost more irritating than the bugs themselves. We got a $50 discount after I pressed for it and initially the manager wanted us to wait until the room was checked until I offered to show her a video I took which she declined to view. The hotel also offers chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the room so they can’t even use the excuse that there shouldn’t be any food or drink left out (which most of us know is very common for someone to do during an overnight stay, especially when the food is non perishable). Carpets in the halls were dirty, there was clear water damage in the corners and the AC was terrible. Place needs a renovation.

I sincerely apologize that this review is long overdue…but a tremendous thank you to Helen and the entire staff at the mansion. Back in January of this year, the entire team helped me put together the most beautiful evening for my daughter’s sweet 16. It was an intimate dinner for her and eight of her friends…followed by a sleepover in one of their beautiful rooms. Every single detail from start to finish was exceptional and perfectly executed. The entire staff went out of their way to make this a night to remember for my daughter and her friends. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and thoughtfulness really made this a very special night…thank, again.

Overall nice hotel but overpriced for what you get.We stayed 2 nights for a wedding at the hotel. The booking process was pretty smooth, check in was quick, they gave us a little map with instructions to find our room. Check out was as easy as dropping off our room keys. The building is certainly old but the room was nice and clean, there was a mini fridge and complimentary water and coffee. My only big issue with the room was that the lighting was very dim (not entirely unusual for hotels) but especially that there was no bright lighting near the mirrors, which made it challenging to apply makeup. The only other issue in our room was minor: the detachable shower head was loose and wouldn't stay in place but we just used the regular shower head. Good water pressure, hot water. The wedding was lovely, there seemed to be some issue at the end of the reception with regards to the music, possibly a local sound ordinance, not sure where the communication breakdown occurred though so don't know if that is on The Mansion or not. There was an upstairs bar area with pool tables where we enjoyed an afterparty. The breakfast was pretty good, potatoes (very tasty), eggs, bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, yogurt, and fruit. It was however set up in a tiny room which got very cramped when it got busy and the plates were small and flimsy which was not great. I would definitely recommend The Mansion to move breakfast to a larger hall and use larger (ideally less wasteful such as compostable) plates. There is a nature preserve nearby which was nice to go for a walk and it's a short drive to nearby drug stores, deli, and diners.Overall we had a good stay but for $220 a night + tax, it was really lacking in any special amenities to make it worth the price.

Great service and staff that went out of their way to make sure we were all set. Loved our time by the outdoor pool with snacks and drinks available. The pool table was also a fun hangout spot.

The mansion is beautiful and amazing! The staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a special place to visit the Glen Cove Mansion is it. I look forward to coming back soon and staying longer.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Rooms incredibly clean, lots of space in the hotel and in the surrounding grounds. Spent a lovely evening outside in the garden, undisturbed. A special shout out goes to the bar man Mario who was fun, friendly, warm and professional. Our interactions with him added to our evening. Some other staff members were also friendly and so helpful but apologies we didn't catch their names..would definitely recommend this hotel. I would suggest having food/tea/coffee available for longer and not during such narrow time frames.

I saw another reviewer state “don’t give this hotel 3 stars, I have been to 3 star hotels better than this”. I have to agree. But I give it 3 stars because, supposedly, they are renovating. I wondered numerous times if they use the word “renovating” instead of “trying to stay afloat” because in my eyes that’s what looks like is going on. We had not seen this hotel prior to booking guests for our daughter’s wedding. Fortunately the wedding was not held there. We should have picked up on the clues we were receiving with the lack of organization from the staff when booking the rooms. Phones not answered, promised confirmation emails not sent, last minute phone calls from the Mansion to confirm the reservations. I was not feeling confident. We live out of state & this was what was recommended to us. I am stunned to read any reviews within the last few months that are 5 stars with excellent reviews. One shows beautiful photos with hotel & conference rooms sparkling clean. I guess it may have looked that way the day the photos were taken. Not during our 2 night stay. I am taking snippets from some reviews I found online that express exactly what I saw at The Mansion at Glen Cove this past weekend & gave me the same impression. “The whole place is falling apart and horribly needs a renovation. You'll have to carry your bags up and down multiple stairs, even if you're on the 1st floor” “anywhere there is a rug you can be sure it is dirty and stained, pretty gross, add to that the windows in the hallways are disgustingly dirty, Lastly, a paint job is overdue” “that the rooms are NOT in the actual Mansion but an addition in the back of the Mansion that takes forever to walk to in order to get to your room--if you have elderly or disabled people with you, which we did, it is hard for them” “We stayed in the 400s rooms, which are in a small brick building by the parking lot and it was disgusting. No air conditioning in the hallways, cobwebs everywhere, and plenty of bugs (gnats, flys, and spiders) in the room” I saw all of that quoted above. I am embarrassed that I directed wedding guests to stay at the Mansion. We stayed in the 200’s & I now want to find out from our guests in the 400’s if they saw many insects. I had a chocolate lollipop from the wedding that I placed on my nightstand. Next morning there were ants all over it. I mentioned it to another guest staying at the hotel, who commented “oh you had ants too?” Our room was clean except for the window filled with big dust clumps. I should have taken a photo. Any door or window that I passed in my long walk to get to our room looked dirty. I’m upset that my mother & aunt, who are the in their 80’s, had to walk up & down stairs, a long way, carrying bags to their rooms. I would not recommend staying here at this time. When renovations are completed ask to look at the pool, the grounds & sample rooms. Then decide!

This is the 4th time we've held our high school reunion at the Mansion and of the over 70 people there for the weekend gathering, there wasn't one complaint about anything, about anyone. The excellence of the facilities and the food and the rooms was surpassed only by the wonderfully responsive and responsible staff. Fabulous!!
