Didn’t even get out the car. Place looked abandoned
I live abroad but I'm from South Dublin. Every time I'm home (2-3 times a year)I always try to choose very carefully where that first pint will be had. I had always wanted to pop in to Peter's Pub but never did for whatever reason. I chose here for my 1st pint back. I couldn't believe what I was served. Two absolute no no's happened. I was presented with a pint of Guinness with a shamrock on top and a bubbly head that was below the rim. I was in shock and just stared at it for a few mins trying to decide if I was going to drink it or say something. After 3 or 4mins just staring at it I saw the same server pour another Guinness, this time from another tap, no shamrock and a slightly better cream head. (Still not proud of the rim) So I asked him, "Do you always put a shamrock on the pints of Guinness?" He instantly knew. I could tell he was devastated. And he replied "I thought you were Amercian, you're not American are you?" In fairness to the lad, I've lived in Canada for 10 years so he obviously heard a twang WHICH I'M GUTTED ABOUT but in my strongest Dublin accent I replied saying I was from 5kms down the road. Anyway, as a good solid barman should do, he grabbed the pint, poured it down the sink and poured me another one, this time from a different tap. It was definitely a better pint for sure and this one was borderline acceptable with the head slightly above the rim. We chatted for a bit and I commented that the pint itself was very poor, shamrock aside!! The bubbles in the head, it just didn't look creamy. Anyway, he pointed to the tap and said it was that specific tap...... which got me asking myself "does this pub have a gimpy Guinness tap for the American tourists who know no better?" I'm not saying that is the case but I felt it was suggested. Needless to say, pint experience ruined!! Nice lad and I liked the interior but any pub in Ireland and particularly one that's 2 or 3kms from the Guinness Brewery MUST serve nothing but perfection. It always baffles me how any bar server could present a Guinness that's not proud of the rim!! You expect that pretty much all over the world but not at home, not at home!! First world problems,,,,eh?!

The patrons of this establishment are so loud and inconsiderate. It isn't hard to be a responsible adult, if it is, maybe don't drink. Or, maybe try to corral your overserved customers during standard sleeping hours as a sign of respect to your neighborhood. I live down the street and can hear this place every weekend. People will be in the parking lot still at 3am screaming, fighting, breaking glass bottles, etc. Embarassing, frustrating.
Update: not a false comment, as the owner? Is claiming. I'll gladly record it next time. I have no motive to lie 🙄
