Decided to try jumbos now that it's under new management, as I used to like it before. Disappointed would be an understatement. Service was horrible (and attitude of one waitress was horrible), and they weren't even busy - it was my group of six and two other couples who had both received their food by the time we ordered. Don't expect a refill unless you basically demand one, the couple near us got up and filled their own drink at the machine during one of the many little breaks the two waitresses were in the back for. And when they weren't in the back they were standing there watching the few people in there and looking at empty cups but making no move to do anything about it or check on the tables in general. Our food also took awhile, which is a bit crazy since our 6 meals were the only thing being cooked. Four of us got the fish fry meal (it was ~5pm) - the fish and macaroni and cheese were lukewarm at best and tasted like they had been cooked and sitting in a warmer since late morning. They did offer fries in replacement of the inedible macaroni and cheese though. The two other meals were a burger and a panini, the burger was the only thing that came out hot. And to top it all off the waitress brought the checks and let us pay, I had to ask if I could get a box since I had half my meal left. It wasn't until then she let us know it was $1 for a tiny to go box. This new management should think about some serious changes if they expect to remain open...especially change in staff, or training at least.

Good local diner. Check hours before you go to be sure they are open. They close early. The $30-50 is a large lunch with 2 with drinks. The food we believe is very good.

Ordered fish fry got a sandwich. Ok but the fish had very hard pieces like they fried the finns. They could not give a rats behind so ill go somewhere else in the future.

I’ve given this place multiple chances since it reopened under new ownership, five visits to be exact, and each one has been a disappointment due to incredibly poor service.
Every time I’ve gone in, I’ve waited at least 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my table. On one occasion, I waited an hour and a half for my food, only to watch another couple come in, get their meal, and leave before mine even hit the table. Today, I waited 22 minutes and there were 6 customers there including my table. I walked out without being given a menu.
It’s clear the new staff lacks training, urgency, and awareness of how fast-paced the service industry needs to be. Servers move slowly, show little initiative, and don’t seem concerned with providing even the most basic customer service. Getting a check is a whole ordeal, I’ve had to flag someone down every single time.
It’s disappointing to see a once-promising spot go so far downhill. Until serious changes are made in how this place is run, I won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting prompt, attentive service.

We had a great experience here. The place was very clean and inviting in the service was attentive and friendly. There were lots of options on the menu. According to the menu you could order either breakfast or lunch at any time. However, it appeared as if dinner was reserved until later on in the day which made total sense. The parking was around back, it took a second to figure out because I wasn't from the area but it wasn't too hard.
Had a great meal and great server. Can't wait to go back

Edit: after I wrote this good review I was informed that jumbos charges .50 cents for a glass of tap water (I didn’t inspect the receipt). And they continue to “justify” it on social media. For this reason I’m changing my review from a 4 to a 1 and no longer recommend.
First time here since new ownership. Disclaimer, I’m local to this diner. And typically if I don’t have a good review for a local establishment I won’t leave one at all. But this IS a good review. I ordered the cheeseburger deluxe with fries and my buddies son ordered a BLT with fries. He must have enjoyed it because he ate it all. The waitress never asked how I wanted my burger cooked so I let it ride to see how it was cooked. It was medium-well. Perfect. The patty was on the verge of being too small for the bun, but it was a delicious burger. The fries were waffle fries(which I like) and so I cleaned my plate. Waitress was nice and attentive. Atmosphere is really nice for a diner(which it has been) but the prices now seem to reflect diner food, which it is. I will definitely be back and recommend. Sorry I usually add pictures but forgot to take one.

Ordered takeout on Friday. It was a busy evening for the staff and everyone is still learning. The food was amazing. Got the cheeseburger BLT with waffle fries. Hopefully those who left a bad review try them again. They are giving a lot of our communities youth an opportunity to get job experience. That is hard to come by in Gouverneur. Be patient and give good feedback so they can provide great service.
