I don’t eat sushi that often. Once in a while I really crave it, and have to get it. I probably order sushi 7-10 times a year.
I’ve come to Matsuya many times over the last 2-3 years, here and there. I picked up a tiny order today, just a cucumber avocado roll. It’s what I was craving.
Literally not one of the rolls stayed together. Every single roll I picked up, instantly unraveled and crumbled apart.
The staff are always really friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice. However, I’ve been to probably 15 different sushi restaurants and this was the most poorly constructed roll I ever received.
Will definitely be considering a new go-to spot in Great Neck. I’ve never had this experience with other local sushi establishments. I typically visit Matsuya because it’s closest to my home.

I've been going here for years, and it is always a great dining experience. Surprisingly, they recently updated there menu and this kobe beef slider with brie was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more of the new items!

The attention to detail and environment is incredible. Similarly, you can’t match better quality food elsewhere, it’s on a league of its own. The service was quick with waiters checking in every so often. Everyone is extremely friendly and the food is to die for (Get the KOBE sliders!).
