This past weekend we ordered their most popular Shabbat package (package #2) to enjoy at our own table. It was off the charts. It was still warm when I picked it up Friday afternoon. “We went to Peter Luger’s in Brooklyn to celebrate my son’s and my birthdays. Incredibly, it was our first time there. We will be back. Beautiful, old world atmosphere. The food was beyond delicious. Our waiters, Adi and Justin were friendly and professional. I read so many reviews that the wait staff was rude and cold. Don’t believe it for one second. All the waiters were attentive and checked to see how everything was going. Don’t miss the apple strudel and schlag. I’d give Peter Luger’s ten stars if I could. Can’t wait to return.”

“Such a great little spot. The restaurant is clean and lovingly decorated, with photos of the staff and (I assume) their family and friends along one wall. A karaoke machine sits in one corner, which makes me think this is a place where happy memories have been made. The staff were super kind, they were out of some things I wanted but I was really happy with everything I got instead. The kung po chicken is vivid and flavorful, I loved how tender the chicken was and the sichuan numbing spice never disappoints. The wood ear mushroom appetizer was delightfully crunchy and soaked in a lightly spiced garlic and cilantro sauce. I loved how flakey and flavorful the scallion pancake was. I grabbed a yogurt drink and found it to be very yummy, lightly sweetened with matcha and fruity flavors. Whatever else they were cooking, everything on other peoples tables, all of it smelled and looked so good! Familial, vibrant, and simply delicious.”

“I’ve been coming to Mr. Wish in Great Neck for so many years, and truly no one does it like them. I’ve even been to other Mr. Wish locations, and they just don’t compare to this one.

The choice of pastries was pretty amazing, what we had was fresh and truly outstanding, service was efficient and friendly, and the place itself was very clean. Will be back!”

“Usually when we want good Northeastern Chinese food, we have to drive all the way to Flushing, so it is nice to have this place much closer to us. The food was really good and had the flavor we were looking for. We liked the sweet and sour fish, crispy pork, eggplant with minced pork, and sour cabbage vermicelli. Northeastern food can be a little heavy and oily, so it’s not something we eat all the time, but when we’re craving it, this is definitely a place we’d come back to.”

“I've been eating at Golden Garden for so long I've forgotten just how many years it's been. The food is exceptional. The father does the cooking and the son and daughter do everything else. My favorites are the Chicken and veggies with Brown Sauce and the Chicken and veggies with Black Bean Sauce. It is a Take-Out only. What makes it so outstanding is the consistency of the food. It is always good!!”
