*5/5 Stars - A Slice of Heaven in Great Neck!*

I'm still drooling just thinking about the incredible salad and pastries from this bakery! The moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of freshly baked goods wafted through the air, and the staff's warm smiles made me feel right at home.

The croissant? Flaky, buttery crust giving way to a sweet surprise center. The rugelach? Layers of flaky dough wrapped around a rich, creamy filling. And don't even get me started on the babka - moist, chocolatey, and utterly addictive.

What truly sets this bakery apart is the love and care that goes into every single item. You can taste the difference in every bite. Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering this hidden gem, do yourself a favor and get here ASAP.

*Pro tip:* Try the bakery specials - they're always a delight! Can't wait to come back and indulge in more of their delicious treats!

Today before heading into the office, I decided to stop by Nior Cafe and Bakery to try something new. When I walked in, I noticed an assortment of baked goods displayed on the right-hand side. I ended up ordering a pistachio croissant, a mushroom pastry, and a small latte.

Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot. Their POS system wasn’t working properly—my card kept getting error messages, and after about 5–10 minutes of trying, the staff eventually asked me to use Apple Pay, which finally went through. Not the smoothest start to the morning.

The total came out to $11 for two small pastries and a 5 oz latte. For that price, I expected higher quality. The croissant was hard and lacked the flaky texture you'd expect—it felt more like dense pistachio bread, and the filling barely tasted like pistachio at all. The mushroom pastry wasn’t memorable either, and nothing tasted particularly fresh.

Overall, the quality just didn’t live up to the price or the presentation. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend it to friends or family? Also no. There are much better spots around for both coffee and pastries.

Although quaint, this café has fabulous mini cakes and pastries, & sandwiches! A particular favorite of my family is their moroccan fish which we get almost every friday! Their restaurant next-door is also really good.

Outstanding bakery. The pastries are amazing. Best muffin I’ve ever had. Kosher too. 10/10. The frozen desserts are really good too. Also best homemade Challah and Babka. Highly recommend.

Not much options but very tasty . Food is seasoned very well and everything is fresh . Excellent for quick bite but owner must work on service and customer retention. I would definitely go back to try new . Burekas are all tasty and well seasoned . Shakshukah is in major need of ingredients , just tomato and egg is not called shakshuka.

Vegetarian options: Lots of options and sandwiches

Dietary restrictions: Kosher parve and dairy

Kid-friendliness: Kid heaven

Terrible experience. I had a party of 10 and a $600.00 check. Way overpriced for what you got. Waitress couldn't follow instructions. I specifically asked that everyone be served at the same time, which is expected, right? 1 person ate 1/2 their meal alone. Another got hers 15 minutes after that and the rest came out 15 minutes after that and over a 10 minute period. 2 out of 3 steaks were undercooked. Broccoli rabe was tasteless. Mashed potatoe sides were cold. The worst part was the owner's attitude, who was sorry, not sorry. He was rude and clearly did not care that we were unhappy. Adding insult to injury: 1 bathroom stall for the entire restaurant with a door that you had to muscle closed, literally, as door was not hung correctly and still was almost impossible to lock. Never again. Stay away!

Eating here was a terrible experience. The food was sub-par at best for way too much money; entrees came out over a half hour apart from each other; half of the food came out cold; and, the steak was way undercooked. They made no accommodations for swapping sides, and the (one, unisex) bathroom door had no lock and took your whole body weight to close. The music was obnoxiously loud as well, and the fumes from the birthday candles reeked. I would advise you stay as far away from this place as possible.

The staff is rude to a comedic degree. I wouldn’t step foot in there other than for a laugh.
