Had lunch here last Thursday! Our server James was terrific! The pizza was great! My nickname is Bobbie Pizza & my girlfriend Susie slice gave it a 4.8 pepperoni's out of 5 on our pepperoni rating scale for pizza! We have been to over 100+ pizzerias/restaurants over the last eight years! 1943 is definitely a must place to eat if you're in town! ???

Out of many excellent choices in Greenport, we find ourselves back in Pizza 1943 all the time! Well worth the wait! Thanks to the team, especially James! We love the pizza and highly recommend the Arugula salad! We tried the special menu’s eggplant and burrata, which was delicious! James and Seth go above and beyond to make sure all guests are cared for. THANK YOU Pizza 1943!

I wrote a review and the manager responded like a gentleman. I remember him, guy is a class act and truly cares. Pizza is great here. Servers and poor atttitudes are the only drawback but seems like the guy is on top of it. I’m from Brooklyn and we HAVE THE BEST PIZZA - or so I thought. I’ve been to Italy also, this pizza is as close to pizza in Italy as can be. Better than Brooklyn pizza too

This is the most delicious pizza in all of New York& an amazing find in Greenport. The ingredients are so fresh and the crust is perfect. The staff is also friendly and efficient, James makes sure that you will have a fantastic experience!
Vegetarian options: This pizza is fantastic and even though we love the pepperoni, they accommodated my son who is vegan and can make any pizza without the cheese. The choices of toppings are plentiful

The two ten year olds working at the hostess station were incredibly rude. There were open tables for over an hour but we still waited for no reason.
EDIT: I am not even surprised that the owner responded in such a condescending manner, what a great way to run a business! Clearly they know exactly what they are doing. This is just the icing on the cake that you shouldn’t come here. 0 accountability for their horribly run business. For the record, we waited 90 minutes and the open tables remained vacant the whole time. If it were 10 minutes, we wouldn’t be here posting this. Shame on you.

Best spot for pizza on the fork. I like reading the reviews from tourists who have never worked in the industry complaining that they have to wait. Boo hoo! Go be a brat somewhere else lmfao if these people were rude to you it was because you brought your attitude and they told you to take it elsewhere (everyone here is super nice. Can say with certainty all these comments about ‘the service bullying customers’ are being posted by belligerent tourists who come in trying to cause issues for everyone else enjoying themselves.) worth planning ahead for.
