First things first, the lobster roll here is absolutely delicious. I’ll even go as far as to say that it might be one of the best hot rolls on Long Island!
My wife and I are from Nassau County and had been here once before and really liked the food and atmosphere. This time around, we had extended family with us. I called the restaurant at noon to confirm their kitchen closing time and was told that it’s 8 PM. (I know that Google says 7 PM for Sunday, but I trust a person over what Google tells me.) So we arrived at 7:10 PM and were greeted and told that the kitchen was closed. When I mentioned that I had called in to confirm the closing time and was told 8 PM, they said otherwise.
Our waitress accommodated us anyways and was very pleasant the whole time. However, just as we were ready to sit down, a man walked out with a phone in his hand, implying that we were lying about calling in, saying his phone hadn’t been working for the last three days. He then threw the phone on our table and walked off, saying, “but I’ll cook for you anyway.”
At first, I couldn’t really tell what had just happened. I thought he threw the phone to the waitress, but a few seconds later it all clicked. Not only was this rude, but it was also inappropriate behavior towards paying customers. Our waitress remained calm and nice, assuring us not to worry and apologizing for the incident.
To the man who threw the phone at us: thank you for cooking for us anyways. The food was delicious but it was soured by your appalling behavior. We didn’t appreciate you implying that we were lying about calling in. Please don’t take customers for granted. I’m sure us not returning to your restaurant won’t make much difference to you, but we had thought we’d found a good place for dinner two hours away from home whenever we’re on the North Fork. But, we’ll have to look elsewhere.

Bloody mary was amazing, perfect spicy! We had the fish bites and clams casino, also were very good. Our server Stephanie was pleasant, informative, and fast! Skip those in town waterfront places and head here for great food and service.

Have been 3 times as a local. The last (3rd time) was not positive. As we know things happen in business, however, hire the right staff, have your managers engaged in daily operations and set the tone. I'm not throwing stones but I expect what is advertised, period.
Awesome spot! Visiting from florida and this place added that little bit of home i love so much. Very friendly and the frozen drinks were great!

I decided to spend my special Big Birthday, July 21st ,at Billy's by the Bay. I got there at noon,as my family and friends were trying to get there by 1pm. I asked to hold a table for 8. When I arrived, table for 8 was open. My party ran late, as they did not anticipate the east end traffic. They got there between 1:35 - 2:00pm. The manager gave me the rudest treatment I have ever encountered. I have never been yelled at every 15 minutes by anyone in a restaurant before.My family and friends ordered food and drinks, and the lovely waitress was well taken care of. The manager needs a course in customer service, which she severely lacks. I totally understand it's summertime, and tables are money. However, I don't understand your behavior towards me. I could've very well have taken my party to another place. You gave me so much stress, I was ready to cry. What a 70th birthday! Next year, when I drive 12 hours to get to Long Island, I will definitely not ruin my birthday by bringing my family and friends to your establishment! PS If I left Center Moriches at 11:10 am, there was no way I'd be in Greenport at 11:30! I came in at noon, and you were wrong! Time for new management, you've been on the job way too long! A sincerely disappointed customer

Vacationing at Greenport and found the GOAT lobster roll. IMO served just the way it should be- chunks & chunks of buttered lobster on a perfectly toasted roll. Highly recommend.
