Let me start by saying I have lived in Greenport for over 20 years and the friend I was with grew up in Orient and had a business in Greenport for over thirty years. I also worked in the restaurant business throughout college and graduate school and then did catering for several years before becoming an accountant. This weekend we went to the Maritime Festival like we do every year. On Saturday we were walking around and my friend said lets stop somewhere for a drink and rest a bit plus I could use a bathroom. We were right by Front Street Station so I suggested we go in there because I knew the bar would probably be empty since it always is and we could get a quick drink and leave. Since the new owners took over Front Street several years ago it has totally gone down hill. When my kids were little, my husband and I use to go there often and the family that owned it then were wonderful. The food at the time was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. It was a great family restaurant. Obviously the current owners don't seem to have any knowledge of what makes a great restaurant. On Saturday we went in and went into the bar. The woman behind the bar looked like she could be homeless and I was shocked that they would have her behind the bar. I am all for giving someone in need a job but maybe they should put her in the back of the house. We ordered drinks, mine was red wine and my friend was just drinking soda. I walked over to the bathroom and when I tried the door it was locked so I stood back by the opening of the small hallway near the dining room so when the the woman came out of the bathroom she would have room to walk past me. All of a sudden I hear this loud voice behind me saying in front of the whole dining room which is small, "There someone in the bathroom!" I said "I know. That is why I am standing here." A minute later the woman in the bathroom came out and said to me that the bathroom door locks when it closes. I wasn't sure if she meant once you are inside so I went to open the door and it was locked. Apparently, I was going to need a key to unlock it like they do it cheesy establishments to prevent people from just walking in. So I looked around for the loud waitress and I didn't see her. I walked over to the bar and asked the barmaid if she had a key. She looked frustrated and walked over to the bathroom. She tried the bathroom door which was still locked and then turned around and put her hand in a basked on a shelf on the opposite wall and fumbled around looking for a key. At this time the loud waitress walked into the dining room and in a really loud voice in front of the whole room said, "I told you. There is someone in there!" I looked at her in disbelief that she was yelling at me and said, "The woman came out of the bathroom." She then started to say something along the lines that I will have to wait until she can get the key but she said it in this really nasty voice. I said :" Don't you dare speak to me like that! and then she told me to get out of the restaurant. I was like what is happening here. I knew the restaurant was owned and run by dirtbags but this was crazy. At that time, the barmaid got the door opened, so as the waitress was screaming at me to leave I started laughing and said, "I will after I use the bathroom." I went in the bathroom all the while wondering what to expect when I walked out. In the meantime, the waitress walked into the bar and told my male friend (who by the way is in his 60's and was dressed like he could have gone to lunch at a country club) that his wife was rude and nasty and that we would have to leave. Again in front of the whole dining room. She then went behind the bar and took my glass of wine and put it under the bar and said we needed to leave and told the bartender not to serve us. My friend said that we paid for the drinks so if she was going to take it back he wanted to be refunded. The bartender confirmed he paid for the drinks so the nasty waitress put my wine back on

It was great to be back ..... the weather was good and the Front Street Station was great !! We were there for 2 dinners and ordered a very tasty Fried Flounder with amazing fries, that we never tasted anything like them. The meal was presented nice and served hot. It was nice to talk to Dave and Sharon, they made us feel we were there last week, We are already planning to return next year. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxing (soft music).

We walked in here today and was greeted right away by our server and who I think was the owner. They both seemed a little frazzled about the help in the place and told us that they only had two cooks but they would try their best to accommodate everyone in the place. We did wait a little for our food but our server was amazing in making sure we knew what we wanted and even gave us some more water and some pickles while we waited for our food. When the food came it was amazing! My wife’s salad was fresh with all fresh ingredients, my sandwich was made perfect and neat for a double decker. What I liked most was the quality of service. My two girls both ordered the same dish. They both never finish their meals when we go out to eat. Our waitress recommended we split the dish as it was a lot of food. She was right and it was the perfect amount for both our girls to eat. It’s the first time they both cleaned their plates. The food was amazing and I highly recommend eating here. The staff, although short is making every attempt to make their Customers happy

Excellent dinner sitting at the bar which was a refurbished diner with so much charm. We were given great recommendations and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. Highly recommend for a wonderful meal in Greenport!

We tried to have dinner here on a Friday evening around 7:30 - my wife and I and our two young children. We asked to take one of the tables outside in the front. About 2-3 minutes after being told that we could grab one of the outside tables (all were empty, most of the inside empty as well), as we were sitting down, the owner came outside and yelled "that's it, we're closed," without explanation. Obviously, they were not closed. There were a few people inside still eating, and the bar was open. I asked the owner for an explanation, and he just said again, "we're closed." I went inside to further get an explanation, because I believe we deserved that after he told us to grab a table. Again, "we're closed," literally standing around customers still eating. After I walked out, as my family was walking down the street, owner came outside and yelled "you're an a**hole." I yelled back "I have my kids with me." His response was "yeah, you're still an a**hole." Never once raised my voice. Just wanted an explanation when it was clear he was treating us differently. Disgusting. I can't believe this guy is allowed to run a business. No one should go here. Ever. The owner is out of control.

Looking for a place to have lunch in Greenport Ny one cold January Saturday. Due to the pandemic many restaurants have closed it doors. We were lucky to find this place a quiet gem. Tucked away on a busy street in downtown Greenport, we were greeted with a smile and a friendly greeting, please come in - have a seat and get warm, we will be right with you! And so we did, as we were in the middle of a cold snap, (22 degrees). After ordering our drinks ( hot tea, and a ginger ale) We started with the shrimp appetizer, Fantastic! My Wife have the battered Chicken in a basket and I had the soft shell crab sandwich. The chicken was fresh, honey based batter with a beet, red cabbage coleslaw and curly French fries. My soft shell cab was lightly fried to perfection. The red cabbage cold slaw was crispy and delicious. The lunch was exceptional the price was very reasonable and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly! Thank you Sharon for making our visit feel like family stopping by for a bite to eat!

We stayed at an amazing B&B in East Marian and wanted to bring in dinner due to Covid. Front Street Station was the perfect spot. Not only was the food delicious, but the portions were huge! They even delivered the food to our B&B and on New Years Eve! Sharon was a pleasure to work with and ensured that we all had an amazing dinner. Can’t wait to go back again! Highly recommend Front Street Station!

Hubby and I had a late luncheon meal and it was sooo good! I had a burger, cooked to perfection and my husband had a spinach salad with broiled chicken that was great! Every time I eat here my meal is great! This place is a hidden gem, as are the owners! And Rose’s desserts are heavenly!

After having a nice conversation at Front Street Station several days before our arrival, the lady I spoke with said that they can accommodate my 14 year old granddaughter’s dinner to have no oil or butter sauce. No problem at all. I said we will be there early the next week. On a Monday, I called to make a reservation for a Tuesday and they said they were closed for a wedding. I didn’t expect that. Then I asked for Wednesday for 11 of us. When my family arrived, we were being seated at three different small tables. I asked, “ can’t we put two tables of 4 together atleast”? I was told “no”. There were so many empty tables at this time. I don’t know how they accommodated a wedding, but I was so very disappointed as I had a nice conversation with the woman originally. My granddaughter was looking forward to the dinner.Since Front Street Station refused accommodate us together, we left disappointed. Eventually, we found a nice Italian restaurant around the corner. and they were so welcoming and accommodating and the food was great!

We did decide early in the morning of our last day to try this restaurant because we did not want to drive. I t was the best decision; the staff was amiable. They gave us a general history of the area, and the food was delicious; it made our experience enjoyable.

We visited Front Street Station this past Saturday for lunch. We had a choice of either outdoor or indoor dining. we choose indoor as everything was COVID safe. We were greeted by the owner who made us feel as if we had known each other for years. Our waitress was the same. She explained the menu expertly and made recommendations. We both had the burgers and they were cooked to perfection. The fries were delicious. It was so nice to be treated like a truly appreciated customer. We will surely be going back.

Wanted a quick bite to eat and wanted “American” style food... this was the spot! And the service was great , food was great... a must visit if you go to Greenport for a reasonable meal.

Another year in Greenport and Front Street station is my go to spot for juicy burgers. We tried the New England/Manhattan clam chowder mix. It was unbelievable! It was so good!!

This local restaurant is not fancy or upscale, what a relief! What this place is is amazing. We were warmly greeted and seated in the dining room. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable & assisted us in our menu choices. There is a full bar with a nice selection of beers. We had the house chowder which is part New England style & part Manhattan and totally delicious! I could have only that and be satisfied but then I would have missed the other incredible offerings. The Fra Diablo was out of this world! Easily the best ever! The portion was generous- - no, it was huge- - with so much fresh seafood: a full 1/2 lobster( body, claws, tail) a mountain of mussels, shrimp, clams over a bed of pasta.....it was incredible. The hamburger was cooked perfectly with a side of sweet potato fries- yummy. Do not miss this place.

Friday evening found us in the nearly empty dining room after our first choice for dinner was closed for a private party. The decor was haphazard. I'd say it was shooting for eclectic and missed but that gives it too much credit. There are rope lights along the beams and walls but half or more of them are burned out. Food pretty much matched the expectations set by the environment. The burgers were OK, the fries were horrible. The one saving grace was the onion rings.
