This place is a gem! I was there sitting outside for the tractor parade tonight. And all my friends raved about how friendly the owner was. We were outside his establishment waiting for the parade and hanging out for a couple of hours. During that time we were in and out using the rest room and grabbing beers from the bar. Let’s start with Rose the bartender, she was amazing. Very attentive to her crowd and extremely knowledgeable about her craft. My friends were unsure of the carefully selected German Beer selection being offered. Rose was spot on in her descriptions of each beer, and recommendations. All of my friends walked about and couldn’t be happier with their choices! Secondly the owner Chris was extremely welcoming and seemed to know who was amongst the crowd both inside and out. He was an amazing conversationist and all around amazing host. As the night went in we ordered some pizzas they specialize in. Chris took my order and delivered them to me personally. I can not put into words how amazing those pizzas were! I can not wait to go back and enjoy a proper dinner here! This place is amazing and a hidden gem just outside of the capital district. I would recommend this restaurant to any one! Job well done to Chris, and the rest of the staff at this establishment!Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a kid friendly place. Very warm and welcoming.

We had very good German dishes at what I thought were excellent prices. We enjoyed the German wines and beer, too. IMHO the wines were a good pour for the cost. The owner spent a lot of time with us. He was interesting as well as passionate about his offerings. The ambiance was plain and low key. I've eaten in German cafes that were similar so I was ok with it.We have no complaints but I guess I'm saving the fifth star for a fabulous experience or ambiance.

My husband & I had our 11yr wedding anniversary dinner at Elsasser's @ 111. It was our first time there. Being that we are not from the area. We stayed at an AirB&B not far from the restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted & welcomed by the staff. Even the customers greeted us, lol. Everyone was very friendly. The food was amazing & delicious ? Cooked to perfection. The dessert was delicious as well. My husband and I had a great time and we are looking forward to going back.

Elssasers 111 offers consistently delicious food, inventive cocktails and friendly service. We are grateful for this new dining option in the village of Greenwich. We have recommended Elssasers111 to our Air BnB guests and they consistently rave about the food and neighborhood friendly bar ambiance within walking distance. Last weekend we brought a large family gathering for Sunday Brunch. Chris, the owner, did not disappoint with live jazz music (trumpet, string bass) and Alsatian-style crispy thin-crusted Flammkuchen topped with eggs, cheese and green onions with creme fraiche for the sauce. We also enjoy the heartier meals with red cabbage, German potato salad and peppercorn-crusted ground beef filled with blue cheese. Chris also makes homemade Spatzle infused with spinach, mushrooms or garden vegetables from dehydrated fresh ingredients. Anne and Jim Sutherland Greenwich, NY

Walking into this restaurant feels like you’ve been transported back in time! Chris is an absolute delight and reason enough to visit, but the food is also delicious and unique. I had the pork schnitzel, which was perfectly crisp over mixed spaetzle that was flavorful and fresh. The wine selection was diverse and tailored to individual preference. I’d recommend popping in if you’re in the area - you won’t be disappointed. When I’m back in Saratoga I’ll make a point to stop here again and hope that it’s karaoke night!

A wonderful, interesting, out of the ordinary German meal in a quaint historic building with fast, friendly service, cold beer, and really creative flatbreads. We tried the flatbread, schnitzel, Spaetzl, and even a pork Cordon Bleu and all were delicious. Cold beer was a nice complement. Sorry, we didn’t have room for dessert, but there are a couple of sweet flammkuchen on the menu for those who save room. Well worth a visit for tasty happy hour snacks, interesting cocktails or a full meal. What an unexpected treat right on Main Street in the center of Greenwich!Wheelchair accessibility: The main level by the bar is completely accessible. There are three steps up to the second dining room.Dietary restrictions: There is a gluten-free noodle option and our server tells us it is the most popular variety of Spaetzl they serve.

Tried this out with family on a visit last Friday in a search for something out of the ordinary and it did not disappoint! After a beer at the delightful Argyle Brewery up the street, and some snacks at Wallie's a bit further along Main Street, we settled in for a German (Alsatian) dinner in this charming spot on the corner, the last stop in our Greenwich crawl. The building is historic, of course, the interior space warm, welcoming and authentic, with a small bar as you enter and a larger dining room a few steps up to the left. We sat by the grand piano and noticed a couple of small tables set up for chess, where players dropped by as we dined. We ordered a tasty flatbread (Flammkuchen) topped with bacon cheeseburger toppings (my fave odd choice of possible toppings) (in German, one big long word, Baconvinikäseburgerkuchen) and it was delicious. An Alsatian treat, the crust was crisp and crackly thin, lightly topped with Crème fraîche and burger, bacon, onion, cheese and even pickle. Perfect pre-dinner snack when split, or part of a light meal itself. Several topping choices were available, including two dessert flammkuchen options. For the mains we chose Spätzle (flat egg noodles, several varieties including a GF version), Schnitzel, and a delicious Pork Cordon Bleu, (rolled schnitzel with ham and cheese) All were hot and delicious and came with red cabbage, homemade kraut and/or German potato salad, hot or cold. The salad lacked a bit of zing, but it too was tasty, and we left 3 clean plates.Service was fast, friendly and attentive, A tasty Dunkel Weiss was a perfect beverage accompaniment, and the owner stopped by a couple of times to check on our meals. A very pleasant, reasonably priced change of pace that deserves a visit (or to be part of your next Greenwich Main Street crawl)

Went to Elsasser last night for girls night out. Had a great time!! The bartender, Katie was so sweet, personable, and informative. The owner, Chris, made up two of our drinks according to what tastes we liked. Hit the nail on the head with both of them...Our dinners were delish! We all tried something different and shared with each other. Everything tasted SOOOOO good.Someone else wrote"Run, don't walk ,to Elsasser's" and I couldn't agree more!! Looking forward to karaoke night!!!
