Here recently for my daughter's babyshower and the room and staff at Illium were great! The staff even complimented us for being great guest. My daughter was super happy at the event. Thanks Illium staff!
Drinks are expensive and small. $8 for a small clear plastic cup of vodka and soda and the plastic cups got smaller when the second drink was purchased. Everyone's food was cold. My friends got the bruschetta chicken, my boyfriend and his friend the steak and I got the eggplant...all cold and the steak was very rare despite requesting medium. Ambiance is nice at the back round bar. Only go back for an event but not for dinner and cocktails.
This restaurant, located within the Pinehaven Country Club, is open to the public. Marla Ortega, the manager, deserves the credit for the wonderful cuisine. Marla, who is the chef & owner of the Illium Cafe in Troy, studied at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. She won "Guy’s Grocery Games" on the Food Network in May, 2014. In the past, I'd found info that she was 1 of only 55 women in country who was an American Culinary Federation Certified...
