My girlfriend and I live nearby and our cat is named Sage so we decided to stop by for an early dinner one evening. We were not disappointed. It was early for dinner and it was a weekday so when we arrived we were the only ones in restaurant (people continued to come in after us). I do expect slightly better service and quicker food when there are few people in a restaurant and this was certainly the case. The food was delicious and the service was constant. At one point they had a trainee (the owners toddler son) come check in on us and ask how our food came out which was very cute. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving Mediterranean food!

Sage Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants in the area & never disappoints. We have had Carlos as our server several times & the service / quality of food is always magnificent. The calamari is some of the best I've ever had, & the chicken and seafood entrees I've tried, always impress. This little gem is amazing. Kudos to the chef, management & waitstaff!!!

I was shocked when we stopped there after Golf for dinner. I went to the ladies room and it was disgusting. The stalls and seats were full of urine. Had to change stalls, washed my hands stepped on the lever for the waste basket, which was 3 feet tall and it was filled to the top packed. Looked like it wasn’t emptied in a week at least. I told the rest of our group, don’t use the restroom it will ruin your dinner. It’s August 3 and I asked what their Sam Adams seasonal beer on tap was and he told me cold snap. Cold snap for this year doesn’t come out till January so it’s got to be last year‘s beer. I couldn’t believe he told me that I walked out to the bar. Sure enough cold snap. So I said I’ll just have a dewars and club soda. He said OK went to the bar came back. He told me they didn’t have dewars. I thought it’d be safer ordering a bottle of beer so that’s what I did. Then I was thinking of their lemon chicken dinner all day it came and it was so dry. I could hardly swallow it. Two of us ordered it. Both of us said it was dry. Needless to say, we won’t be going back there. The entire experience was awful.

Sage Bistro in Guilderland is my go-to for lunch take-out! Their paninis are amazing—perfectly toasted with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The cranberry turkey panini is my favorite, with its juicy turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and perfect crunch. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring my order is always ready on time and hot. Highly recommend for a delicious, quick lunch!

Looks pretty nice, need to take care of the fruit flies and this gets a 5 stars on ambiance. Server was ok, cute kid running around asking if we needed water didn't hurt.Got the special: Crab Cake. I'm a Salaried Chef, and appreciate when specials have the full heart and soul of the Chef behind them, as I do. I rarely if ever send back food, if it's bad but edible I'll eat it with disappointment. This crab cake was probably the worst tasting thing I've ever eaten. For non-Chefs, have you ever microwaved something for too long, and the outside gets rock hard? That was the exterior of the crab cake. Not only that, but it was burnt... Horribly burnt. I don't know what this crab did to hurt the cook so badly, but even an hour later I could still taste that horrible burnt flavor. My guess is they burnt a few crab cakes on Valentine's Day, froze them instead of throwing them out, microwaved the burnt crab cake, and tossed some panko in top. The panko was literally not attached to the crab cake, they were like 2 different entities on opposite ends of the world. I asked the server to try and cut into it, and after a struggle, he said "fine". I told him to taste it, and he wouldn't dare. Hopefully they 86'd it.Message to the Chef: Please put your heart and soul into your cooking. A "special" should be special! I'm not mad, just disappointed. If you hate cooking, get out of the kitchen. Don't serve completely burnt rock hard crab cakes. I'd be embarrassed to serve this to my guests. If you need help, reach out. I feel bad, I've seen cooks burn out and lose their passion. I hope you tried the crab cake, and realized how truly awful it was. This restaurant is unforgettable in the absolute worst way. I feel bad putting down a cook, I've been in the industry for decades, but if you worked in my restaurant you'd be written up for serving such awful food, maybe fired (Unions make things hard with a successful restaurant). If you mess up a dish, or use a microwave (except for vegans, they get what they deserve), don't serve it. I'd rather have waited an hour for a decently made crab cake. I only have a few days off a month, and eating that crab cake was like eating the dead soul of the cook. I just feel sad for the cook, and they need help.
