My companion and I had dinner at Placid Pines earlier this week. I ordered the Reuben Grill sandwich and he had the Open-Faced Hot Roast Beef sandwich. Both were excellent. The corned beef in my Reuben was very lean and delicious, as was his roast beef. We both had the pumpkin crunch cheesecake for dessert, which was also very good. For a small pub like Placid Pines to serve such delicious food is a testament to their chef and kitchen staff.
Very tasty Chicken Milanese with a delicious white wine sauce. The salad & food were fresh. Not overly heavy, seasoned just right, and a good serving of broccoli with dinner cooked just right! We’d definitely come back here again.
Exactly what you want and expect from a quaint diner in the ADK Park. The owner Ed is one of the best human beings I’ve met in New York. I’m a Native that left for a military career but consider the people in this area more hospitable and accommodating than most New Yorkers. If you’re in the area you will have a good time if you swing by.
