I feel your spot on Hamburg Turnpike was a lot better and had more of a Texas BBQ vibe. The menu was perfect and the concentration was on the food & not the bar/alcohol.
After living in Texas this is far from a TEXAS style BBQ. Please don’t get me wrong the food is not bad. But it is not consistent. Yankee has just turned into another BAR & GRILL in Buffalo with an emphasis on the bar.
People in Hamburg clearly have not eaten at TSG or Southern Junction.
Can’t understand how this parking lot is always so full. The food was awful. Brisket too much fat, pork way too dry, French fries - hard as rocks!
Service was slow!
Now that's some good stuff! What a wedge salad! So many flavors and the brisket topper was moist and tender. Lingenberry wings were delicious, too. Will definitely go back next trip to town.

Yankee BBQ, Simple Craft BBQ offers delicious pork burnt ends and tender meats with a good smoked flavor. The Loganberry BBQ sauce is a highlight and is highly recommended by customers. Sides such as baked beans, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, and wedge salad are available, with the wedge salad praised for its many flavors. The brisket topper is moist and tender, and Lingenberry wings are also enjoyed. Portions are generous, and the atmosphere has a warm, welcoming tavern vibe. The staff provides friendly service, making the experience even better. Some menu items, like beef ribs, may not always be available towards closing time, but overall, the restaurant is praised as a top spot for real smoked goodness. The meats are the stars of the show- specifically brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Very flavorful and juicy. The sides are on the small side but the meats are worth it. The pastrami Reuben is great. The sampler was fantastic. It's really good. And it's definitely Texas Style.
