Four of us went for restaurant week and we all regretted it. We had to ask for more dressing for the salad; the mushroom pasta looked awful on the plate- it was dark brown and like no pasta shape I'd ever had and tasted strangely. The salmon was fair. All portions were small- even for restaurant week. The only really good choice was the burger made with meat and chorizo. The dessert was delicious but not enough to bring us back for a second time
We were visiting friends locally and we decided to stay at the Hampton Maid and have the New Year's Eve dinner at the R.Aire.
It turned out to be an absolutely lovely evening and the dinner was excellent, in my opinion.
We arrived a bit late, but the host seated us immediately.
The restaurant has an air of modern with just the right hint of home details to make it perfect for a family dinner.
We started with some drinks: martini and an old fashioned. Both were tasty and had just the right combination of spices and alcohol.
Being New Year's Eve, the restaurant had a 3 course menu with some options.
We were served with a glass of champagne and a smoked oyster on a half shell with a lemon foam. These were complimentary, on the house and designed to clean the palate and allow for a better tasting of the rest of the course.
I chose to start with the scallops crudo which were served in a carved rock style dish and featured a mignonette sauce and fresh radishes. The scallops were smooth and sweet and the sauce was slightly hot and salty just enough to complement the shellfish.
Second, I have selected the crispy duck breast with polenta. The duck was offered medium cooked, just as I like it, and was complemented by the crispy skin left on one side. The meat was tender and moist, the sauce complementing it with just a tad of sharpness. The crispy skin was just crunchy enough and had the added salt to balance the entire meal. The polenta was baked and a bit on the hard side, but I guess I am so used eating the southern style, creamy polenta, that I am a bit biased towards my wife's cooking style.
I finished the meal with the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake which really shined in my opinion. It was not very sweet and the hazelnuts enhanced the taste and offered a pleasant addition to the rich and velvety body of the cake.
We enjoyed a bottle of Petit Pissarres from 2020 which turned out to be an exciting find.
My wife had the pomegranate baby kale and goat cheese salad, the Wagyu charred filet mignon and the same cake, while my daughter had the mini lamb filet with greens, the Wagyu charred filet and the cake.
I have never seen my daughter finish a 3 course meal EVER! She loved both the lamb and the Wagyu filet and had half of my cake as well. She even cleaned up the string beens accompanying the Wagyu filet! My wife, who usually goes for more fatty cuts of meat, raved about her steak as well.
I asked the chef about the way he managed to char the filet so well while maintaining its moisture inside and he allowed me in his little secret: the meat was cooked over hight temperature coals in an authentic Japanese hand made grill. I must have one of those for myself!
The service was extremely quick and attentive to our needs, the drinks were refilled promptly and we were checked on frequently to make sure we had everything we desired.
Overall, I had a wonderful evening at the R.Aire and were truly impressed with the quality of the food and service.
We will definitely return when in the area.

Beautiful setting. Amazing food that is sourced with your health in mind. Prepared with your health and tastebuds in mind. This place has it all. Go before it is summer and too crowded. Thank you Chef Alex & Team for an amazing & delicious evening. A gem in so many ways. (The oysters Rockefeller, swordfish & chocolate hazelnut cake were fabulous).
Dietary restrictions: Very conscious about sourcing of food, using oils/fats that are stable to cook with. No too much salt or sugar. Aware of cooking without gluten. All this a backed with great flavor.

R'AIRE Is a rare find in the Hamptons. Delicious, quality, locally sourced food and a varied menu served in a calm, understated setting. Our favorite!!!!
It’s tough to find a true food experience out east, but dinner here was incredible—real culinary magic! We attended a wine dinner where five Spain-inspired dishes were paired with Vega Sicilia wines. My wife is from Spain and found the dishes authentic and perfectly executed. We look forward to our next visit!

I went with my husband and tried the LI Restaurant Week menu. Variety of options which was a plus but we both left quite disappointed.
For appetizers we ordered Crispy Calamari & meatballs. Calamari was lightly breaded and it came with a delicious sauce, meatballs were good but definitely tasted better ones.
For Main Course we got the Filet Mignon that was served with green beans & fries as well as Seafood Paella. The meat in my opinion tasted a little burnt on the outside but for my husband it was good! Green beans were good and fries excellent! Regarding the paella, it was a huge disappointment. First because they come and show you the paella in the skillet and then they bring it to you on a plate with the rice and calamari on one side and the rest of the seafood on the other. The rice tasted fishy and it was not up to standards, the rest of the seafood was quite plain. I was expecting a real paella like the ones in Spain so it was disappointing in every aspect.
Finally for dessert we got 2 slices of cake. ”Tarta de Santiago” said it was almond cake with fresh berries. The slice came with only one strawberry. Cake was okay. The second slice was the chocolate hazelnut which was absolutely delicious and extremely soft.
The service was good, but nothing exceptional. I was expecting more from my waiter. She did not pay too much attention to our table and she will start talking or saying something to us while she was walking away. Not the service that we had imagined.
Will come back for brunch as it is delicious and has big portions but unfortunately not for dinner anytime soon.

Flavorful, authentic, non-pretentious and friendly
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Being spoiled by Southampton restaurants, I was hesitant to go to a Spanish restaurant.
Little did I know that it would
exceed all expectations and is by far one of the best restaurants in the Hamptons.
Having lived in Spain, my standards for Spanish food is high, and they were outstanding. From the Fideuà (highly recommend!) to the Salads, it was delicious. They cater to all tastes from fish to meatballs.
Thank you team!

Excellent food, Spanish specialties are really tasty. You cant go wrong with any tapas. Other mains are as good. Service can be hectic when there is a big crowd. Would add someone to help at the bar.

I don’t know what they think this restaurant wants to be. If their goal was fine dinning they are WAY off the mark. BAD food for a ridiculous cost. Prices were completely inflated and service was subpar. Spent 20 dollars for a “Jumbo Shrimp cocktail” and it was 3 shrimp…..all in all wouldn’t return. Just coasting off the Hamptons name. EMBARRASSING!!
