This has been a second home for me and my family for many years. This is Harrison at its best. From ownership, to the servers, to the food that's served, to the ambiance, to the fact that each time is better than the last, I cannot recommend Gus's enough. And the best New England Clam Chowder I've ever had, and I pride myself as a connoisseur!

The one star is because back when I was younger this was a fun spot. Dined there this week and could not have been more disappointed. There is nothing that would ever make me go back again. The New England clam chowder was a joke, three cubes of potato and I thought I noticed a clam but my wife proved me wrong. No taste and extremely watery. The fried fish sandwich was by far the worst I ever had , not even as good as McDonald's. It tasted like a soft bun with another bun inside, and nothing else., and the waiter said this was his favorite. Never tasted the fish , not crispy at all and it was asked to be cooked well done, more like a mushy mess. We did not enjoy anything we tried. With all the good restaurants in westchester it's a joke that this place is still around. Let's not talk about the prices for the basically horrible food, I don't want to scare you! Like I said it's a joke. Service was ok, even though most reviews on this site say it is horrible. Guess that was because we were one of the only two tables that lunch time. No management anywhere. When I told the waiter that the fish sandwich was pitiful he said OKAY, nothing else. That's where management should kick in and do something. All these kind of places want you to bring up any problems before you leave and not go straight to social media, "guess that system doesn't work at Gus's. Think it's time this place gives it up. I wouldn't eat there for free if offered. And talk about a tight squeeze at the tables, everything about this place is a joke. Don't be fooled, save your money and dine somewhere good.

Gus's Franklin Park restaurant located in Harrison, N.Y. Has been a family favorite for decades. This charming space hasn't changed in years. Still the same great salads and seafood. This family owned restaurant goes out of its way to please. Audrey one of the owners is sure to greet you with a smile and make sure that you are comfortable. Kathleen the barista couldn't be more accommodating, she is in a first name basis with most of the patrons and is always upbeat and jovial. So next time you are looking for a cozy spot on a cold day for a great bowl of clam chowder, go and visit Gus's. They are closed between 3-4 pm and if you want a booth call for a reservation! Enjoy!

Foods and staffs are great. And also, kids friendly. I love this restaurant. I want to go again soon.

I'm torn between a 3 or 4 here for this Harrison institution. Looks like I'm not alone. We went there early on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was jam packed. Soon every table was taken. The restaurant has been owned by the same family forever (except for one brief period of time) . It's a bit of a throwback but the fish is fresh and servings are generous. I can't remember the last time I've been asked if I wanted "baked potato, rice, or fries" with each entree. Lots of fried food. Lots of people eating the turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy. As I said, traditional. The clams casino were amazing. Crab cakes okay, not up to Maryland standards. Blackened Swordfish was fresh and sort of under-seasoned, surprisingly, considering it's a blackened fish, and it was sliced too thin. But good nonetheless. Our one bad moment was when we requested a booth because we had an elderly person with us with a cane, and the hostess said no, even though there were empty booths. It was her tone that got us - completely dismissive. This is never okay. Given all the old people eating there, she probably needs some training on dealing with their needs. And she should work on her tone. But the rest of the service was great. If you want a good old-fashioned fish, vegetable, starch dinner in a tavern room, Gus's delivers. It's too bad the hostess has a bad attitude.

After seeing the many positive reviews of Gus's, we were intrigued to try it for ourselves when we were in the neighborhood for lunch recently and we were totally "blown away"! An unassuming exterior leads you into a full service bar and restaurant that compares well to (and surpasses) larger and fancier eateries. The place was not crowded so the three of us were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were so many "favorite" items on the menu we were having a hard time deciding! Complimentary bread was served - and replenished when requested. Fresh Cole Slaw too! That's delicious on its own! Started with the clam chowder - both New England and Manhattan is available. We tried both - flavorful and thick. We opted for salads - with grilled chicken and with grilled shrimp. Again - well prepared, well seasoned and generously plated. We were full but couldn't resist a dessert. Rice pudding and a slice of Key Lime Pie hit the spot! We will definitely be back!

Service is atrocious , the food was cold and greasy. This place used to be good ! Been coming here since I was a kid, now I'm 55 and I will never go back again. Save your money and time

One of my favorite restaurants when I visit friends in nearby Rye Brook (from Texas). Friendly staff — everyone — large lobsters, steamers a favorite too, warm rolls, gorgonzola salad, and a nice pour on drinks. I make a point of stopping here pretty much every time I’m in New York, which is several times a year the last few years. Lots of different fish items on the menu too. Great place!

Been going here a long time and was a big fan until last night. 6 people we ordered steamers which smelled off, complained and then they still appeared on our check. In addition the Gorgonzola salad, long a family favorite, was tasteless. Finally it took an extra half hour for them to take the clams off the bill and issue a new check. Very disappointing.

Have been going here for years. The food and service is terrific. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. You can actually have a good conversation with your dinner Pals and hear every word they're saying. But on the weekend remember to make a reservation if you want to a booth. You will not be disappointed eating at Gus's.

Great seafood restaurant, fish, and shellfish. Gus' has been around for years, quality always consistent. They have land animals too, but I've always gone for the sea creatures.

Love this place. Growing up in Massachusetts-we had places like this all over but had never found something similar around Westchester. That is until I was pleasantly surprised to be introduced to this place by my in-laws. Great seafood (including lots of types of fish i got back in New England but do not see as often around here, like Boston scrod), delicious desserts (highly recommend the pecan pie) and reasonable prices with a laid back vibe, make this a great local staple. The service is also top notch. Don't miss this spot!
