Always delicious and fresh sushi!
$$$$ quality for the price of $$ !! Best in Westchester, Excellent Sushi.Don’t be fooled by the unassuming decor of Momiji, Chef Shinji creates and serves excellent sushi that entices the taste buds.In Manhattan, for his quality of Sushi, you’d be paying almost 3 times the price. His sushi & cooked food are delicious, fresh but very traditional and simplistic - he stays away from “fusion” or modernizing his sushi.Highly recommend it.
We have been visiting this restaurant for years on a Friday evening. Even during covid we sat outside in the cold of winter to support this business. Very disappointed this Friday evening to turn up at 7 to be told that they had so many take out orders that they would not serve us! Even though there was only one table occupied in the whole restaurant. I explained how supportive we have been to no avail. Left without being served. Never experienced anything like this. We will not return.
Momiji is one of our favorite restaurants. We have been going there for years and the sushi is always excellent! Although Shinji works quietly behind the counter, the quality of the sushi comes across loud and clear! It’s the best, most authentic sushi in Westchester County!
This is by far one of the best spots in NY. A definite hidden gem and a must try
Good spot for the price . Got myself salmon teriyaki for lunch there and the check is only came out to 12$ - hard to beat such a price. Worth to mention that service was very fast as well , my order was ready in about 10 minutes from the moment I’ve called. 5 stars
In short: Momiji is your non-existent Japanese grandma's kitchen or if you already have a Japanese grandma, a place you can go to get a taste of that level of pure intention towards you and your life that will leave you nourished beyond your taste buds.Momiji is simply the best restaurant in the world to me. I've been to Japan and eaten at Tsukiji Market, lived with Japanese grandmas who cook up the best homestyle foods you can think of, and spent about three months eating farm fresh Japanese food while working on organic farms in Nagano and Shikoku. But for the same reason that your grandmas breakfast plate will always nourish you more than going to a fancy breakfast spot, it seems clear that Momiji offers that level of nourishment if you just watch how Shinji (owner and chef) operates.I had the pleasure of working at Momiji as a waiter/dishwasher for a couple months in between school transitions and got to know Shinji and Momiji a lot more in depth than I could have purely as a customer. I have never had a better boss than Shinji in my life and I probably never will and to be honest, working at Momiji pulled me out of an incredible depression and helped turned my life around simply because of how happy I was to go to work every day and work for Shinji. Why do I think this is important for a google restaurant review? Because as I've studied Eastern medicine and food therapy in graduate school over the past few years of my life I've come to learn that you are not just eating food, you're assimilating who it is that is making it for you. A grandma puts love in there and Shinji puts the most pure effort I have ever seen. He really cares and he just wants to do a good job and keep his family taken care of and have the customer leaving happy not necessarily so that they will come back and spend more money, but because it is his nature and that is hard to come by in this world. The food at Momiji is quality and as far as I know, Shinji is one of the few people who has actually shelled out for a sushi freezer which reaches temperatures that makes sure that the parasites that are often naturally found in fresh fish are dead before you eat it, which is honestly worth its weight in gold (trust me, I've had parasites) and I'm a s***** for the hamachi roll. That being said, the ingredients in most places in America just aren't as good as japan no matter what anyone does so the difference between ingredients at Momiji or other restaurants in the area are probably realistically not large so really the preparation of the food is what it comes down to. Shinji learned to be a chef in the traditional Japanese style of watching his master (previous owner of Momiji). I personally love his sushi rolls and he is good about making sure the fish is of a consistent quality (if you have a bad time, don't get takeout sushi! It's just never going to be that good and depending on the temperature and day it can mess with the flavor in a huge way even if the fish is fresh) He is especially passionate about cooking Japanese comfort foods like katsudon and curries so if you're looking for that homestyle Japanese comfort food fix, Momiji is a great spot since Shinji is born and raised in Japan which objectively gives him a more rooted perspective on Japanese cooking than a lot of other restaurants with non-Japanese chefs, not even counting the fact that he's a force of nature in the kitchen!if you're looking to head over to your Japanese grandma's house but unfortunately she doesn't exist or is on the other side of the Pacific Ocean or you're just trying to have a truly good meal, there is nowhere on the planet I would recommend higher than Momiji.Thank you for everything!
They offer a nice variety of fresh food. I enjoy eating here. Staff members are always super nice, prices are affordable and the place is always kept clean.
Had a good experience here with my son. The food was served quick and the service is just excellent. Prices are fair.

Always delicious, always hospitable. A favorite spot for Japanese food.
I celebrated my graduation today in this fine place. I am glad to say that we had a superb evening and the place was unquestionably one of the reasons for that outstanding event. The waiters collaborated in a gorgeous style, the food was delicious and my buddies were so happy. We shall no dout come back again for more events. Thank you very much.
PLEASE help! Shinji needs the community’s support during these difficult times. Order delivery or pickup he will be open starting tomorrow 3/18/20. Please order!
Best sushi in Westchester. This place is authentic and does it right. The service is a little slow as there is uaully only 2 people working there - one server and one chef. I can't deduct any points for that though because the place isn't very large. I'm not sure where they would fit more staff if they had it.
Fantastic spot to get food when in a rush. The customer service is rapid, rates are affordable, fantastic character. I highly recommend this spot.
