This is the first winery I had ever gone to. We were staying in Watkins Glenn and wanted to try one of the many wineries in the area. We happened to pick this one because it was fairly close. What luck! It turns out Hazlitt is one of the larger wine producers in the area and the makers of a super famous line of wines called Red Cat. The tasting room was a great experience. My preference is dry wines, I did not expect quality dry wines when walking into the tasting room to a red cat and drinking chants were happening. But once I started the tasting I was excited and surprised. The staff was knowledgeable and the wines were on par with some of the best around the lake. I would highly recommend. ( The red cat and Hazlitt wines are truly different brands, if the red cat steers you away give Hazlitt a chance, amazing wines)
Hazlitt was by far my favorite winery we visited on our trip to Seneca Lake. I've been drinking Red Cat for many years, so it was cool to see the actual winery. They also have ciders! There was a little coy pond, and you could feed the fish. The overall vibe was very fun and energetic. Will definitely be stopping on our next trip!
