We travel about 2 hours(round trip) to eat at Choopan of Hicksville. The food is so good. Fresh, homemade. We always order a lot of food to bring home and freeze. The food heats up perfectly.We have Ordered basically everything on the menu. Best Hummus and Nan.

Yikes … just yikes I was kicked out of this place by the over sized gentleman at the front desk , he escorted me because he showed me a picture of a car and I didn’t like his content , he made a scene and embarrassed me pleas don’t come here these guys are insane!! Never in my 30 years have I experienced service like these guys… BEWARE!

I have been going to Choopan Grill for many years, and it is one of my favorite restaurants, but my last visit on 2/16 was not good. The food was cold, the service was below average, and it seemed that when the owner or his sons were not there, the workers were not putting their best efforts. I hope that this experience was the first and last.

The best Afghan restaurant in the Hicksville area! They serve delicious Kababs, especially Chicken/Beef Kofta, Boti, and Lamb Kabab. The service is always excellent whether you eat in or take out. It's the #1 go-to place for a family dinner if you like to have authentic Afghan Kabab!

I've been here on several different occasions for dine in and takeout, and I'm always satisfied. The food is always amazing and so is the service.This last time, I got the combo #4, which is my number one recommendation if you've never been here. Tender lamb chops, well seasoned chapil, lamb Tikka, and melt in your mouth chicken breast. It comes with a side of rice, but I recommend adding the rasins and carrots. Another must try if this is your first time here, is the lamb shank. Literally fall off the bone and just so much flavor.I haven't had anything here i didn't like, but those would be my recommendations. If you need a small dish, you should also try the mantoo and the pumpkin.Parking: Usually good parking in the area.

We have tried a few different local afghan restaurants but nothing compares to Choopan grill. They are unbeatable. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is always amazing. We grew up eating at the choopan in flushing and were so disheartened when they closed down. Glad that this location is very similar. We will be forever customers!

Decent Afghan food. Kebabs are a hit or miss; sometimes they come out cooked perfectly and sometimes they are overcooked, dry or burnt. Price is decent and good portion is decent. Service is okay.
