Heard a lot about village dosa. We went to dine in today but atmosphere was bad. 2 table was empty but guy told us leave me your number I will call you back in 20 min without saying anything else. I have a feeling he rejected us because we had 2 infants with us. That's not the way to deal with customers ? Then we went chennai dosa. Thank good atmosphere was clean. Even though they were busy they had a smile in face and welcoming environment and within a minute we found a table ?

Unfriendly and impolite greeters and servers- gave us stoic looks as we entered - no smiles. Blatantly displayed discriminatory behaviors towards my friend and I, who are overtly Muslim. We asked to sit near the window (this was mid afternoon and the restaurant had two other people dining). We were rudely told no because the table was a four person table and we had to stay on the two people table. We obliged.5 minutes later, a Gujarati couple walks in (they were speaking the language) and asks for the same four people table and the SAME female server tends to them politely and separates the four people table into two!I asked her why she didn't do that for us and all she could say was the other couple were really breaking the rules and she couldn't do anything about it!No apologies or anything.A big part of dining out is customer service and this place failed in that category.

First visit to this restaurant and definitely not the last! We tried the south indian cuisine. Both ghee roast dosa and utthappam were great! They were as close in taste to the ones that you get back in India! The chilli potato appetizer was delicious too! Definitely coming back to try more of what this place offers!..

This small Karnataka-based gem in Hicksville was a surprising treat! Having had my fair share of dosas in Coimbatore, I am skeptical about having South Indian food in restaurants outside the land of the OG, but I have to say, this place really is good. They serve fresh tasty food just like home, and give as much sambar as you like. It's Jain and vegan friendly which is a rare combo. They have an impressive menu of different types of food including chaats and North Indian Favs like chhole with big fluffy bhature. Onion Rava dosa, onion uttapam, masala dosa, masala buttermilk, all great! Looking forward to visiting again. Tip: This place gets filled up fast for lunch and dinner. Get there a little earlier to secure a spot.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly, Jain optionsParking: You have to find spots in adjacent parking lots and down the street near the church.

Every dish we have tried here has been phenomenal. Dosas, chole poori, mini idli all were great!We have known the owner Sarvinder for many years and his customer service has always been extra ordinary. He brings the same warmth to this restaurant and you can feel it even if you don't know the staff.I would recommend everyone to try out their food, especially the south Indian dishes.

GOOD FOOD!I got an order of idli and wada to go. The food got ready in a short time. The place was packed. The ambiance was great and you can easily tell that it was popular among the locals. The food tasted so good. It was well packed and had great flavors.
The food was amazingly delicious. Original South Indian cuisine served with smile.
