Mayers Lake Ontario Winery & Cidery

I was here years ago for buckwheat pancake breakfast. It was wonderful. The place was so charming. Went back yesterday for garlic fest. We ordered two tastings. The wine was served in portion cups and was warm. Warm white wine. Not a lot of people there but server overwhelmed. Ordered a charcuterie, it consisted of grapes two types of cheese and crackers that were bordering stale. Charcuterie took a very long time to arrive, though it did come with an apology so that’s something. The place itself looks unkept. There was bench seating with old looking disheveled cushions and a laundry basket sitting on it. A basket full of old papers by the fireplace (maybe for the fire), dusty staircase and shelving. The wine menu on the board we were told was wrong so we had to pick from the shelf. Server was friendly but so busy she really didn’t have time to “sell” the wine.
This place was great when I was here last and has great potential, but they really need to fix some stuff, tidy up and work on presentation. If that happens let me know and I’ll be back.

Very warm white wine in a plastic condiments cup.No wine glass and quality of wine red or white poor and cider terrible. Filthy door when entering and no menus for wine tasting....what in the world is that about at a winery?Worst winery in our 35 years of visiting wineries.One star because I couldn't give it less...terrible!!!

Fish fry Fridays and free family events. Cider and Wine. What’s not to love .

It’s a winery, but they served very warm white wine. We ordered a cheese board. They said prices were not up to date, but couldn’t tell us how much more. The cheese board (that we paid 18$) was an uncut piece of cheddar, box opened crackers and grapes. Oh and by the way the one was also very poor

Had a great experience. The pizza, wine, and cider were all top notch. Their fries are so good too!

went on a Friday night, sat on the patio around 630 pm. . And we had the patio to ourselves Had wonderful service from both the owner Dave and our waitress Bree . We tried the blt dip and spinach artichoke dip , fish fry , and shaved steak pizza . Food was delicious that night and even reheated the next day was amazing !!!!!!!! Love Love Love the unique way the French fries are cut and cooked !!!!! we did a tasting and left with a LOT of wine and cider!!!! There are some renovations happening there (not in the restaurant part ) so go check it out !!

My husband and I went to Mayers winery in Hilton yesterday and had a wonderful experience. I had some soup and it was delicious. This is a very friendly place and has a warm cozy feeling inside. The smell of the fire is amazing. So glad we found this gem of a place. I highly recommend this place for a nice get away.

Really nice spot that can accommodate large groups. Fish fry and lobster bisque were delicious. Dave made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back.

On 2.23.24 we drove from Batavia. We arrived at 4:30 and they had no cook and didn't know when one would be in. Terrible service. A long drive and no food. Very disappointing ?!!!!!!

This place is amazing. Well-worth the drive from Lewiston area. Wines are great.

Great place! Got waited on by the owner. Excellent Chocolate Porter. Food was exceptional. Highly recommend the charcuterie board.

Enchanting! This Winery is beautiful and charming. A Sunday afternoon Open Mic on the Patio under red umbrellas surrounded by lovely foliage was my introduction to Mayers Lake Ontario Winery. Wonderful vibe , foodOwner and Staff! Food is also excellent I would say this is a must-visit place!

They didn't have the Artichoke dip appetizer That is on their menu so we ordered a Artisan cheese and fruit board and we got deli sliced American cheese with a little thing of green grapes and stale crackers nobody working inside or at the bar the place inside was a messThe wine flights were so small In little plastic cups Then we ordered a glass of wine and The wine glasses were filthy dirty never going back very disappointed

Delicious Friday fish fry!!Great service and atmosphere..A hidden gem serving a nice selection of ciders.
