Best bagels I’ve had in the area. Can get just about anything you want on a bagel. My favorite is a pastrami egg and cheese on pumpernickel everything!
Can get busy and pretty cramped in the small store. And they do run out of bagels, so don’t wait too late in the day to get yours!

This community-friendly little shop has become a favorite of mine. The food is fantastic, and the service is great. However, I do have a suggestion for the store management. The coffee bar is located too close to the entrance, which causes a lot of traffic. If they could move it a bit further, it would greatly improve the experience for customers. But in the meantime, please be mindful of others when you’re here. It’s not a big deal to wait a couple of minutes, and it’s not like you’re starving to death.

Flew into JFK - and after 18 hour flight, went directly to American Bagel and filled my car with their amazing huge bagels which taste fantastic and drove to my Midwest house.
Best bagel store near JFK! Great stop before going ro NYC or road tripping.

Ordered breakfast, girl on the phone was extremely rude. Then i spend $60 on 2 sandwiches and a box of coffee, only to get my food and it’s not made properly. NO bacon on the sandwiches that i paid almost $8 each for. And then i have to fight with them to put a manager on the phone (who’s also rude as hell)!!! Absolutely ridiculous.

my mother and i come here every now and then since this is near my sisters house, typically we never have a problem although service is rather slow. today my mother picked up bagels and i noticed her lox spread smelled rotten. i’ve been eating lox for years i know what it smells like and this was definitely old, we took a little taste. you can tell it did not taste right either when we tried to bring it to their attention they said it tasted fine to them. not sure how they run this place but “fine” is not something i’d want to eat. check your food before eating from here!
