Great to eat at a restaurant with a point of view. Heavy on the mayo based sauces but I wasn’t complaining. Service was very nice. Space was a little small but fine.

I’ve been here twice and can’t wait to go back. Today I had a swordfish stew and a small endive salad that were both so good I almost wept. This is a very special place.

The crepes were absolutely amazing! Also love that their bloody mart has the option to have excessive garnish. The mushrooms and pickled garnishes were so delicious!

The menu changed daily and I was lucky enough to be here on a day with crepes of honey and butter. Upon the first bite I shed a single tear it was that good. Staff are all great and super cute!

What an absolute delight! I had a solo lunch here and cannot rave enough about the food and overall joy this meal gave me. Everyone I encountered was so kind and welcoming, and made a huge effort to accommodate a pregnant lady, telling me about each dish in depth (everything sounds amazing), and even adjusting the ingredients in a dressing to help ease my pregnancy nausea. The swordfish was divine - I’ve never had a more delicious mushroom in my life. Don’t sleep on the tiny salad - I’d happily eat this every single day, and at $5 it’s an absolute must add to any order. Even the side of toast with butter was phenomenal. So wonderful to see a local business, with a wonderful team, creating such a thoughtful space, AND serving up the best meal I’ve had in the Hudson Valley. Thank you all for such a lovely experience - can’t wait to be back and bring everyone I love to share it with.

What a treasure for those who love eating outside the lines.

One of the few places that serve delicious nose to tail options, as well as untraditional menu offerings.

One of my new favorite haunts 🔥🔥🔥

The food and service at Cafe Mutton were excellent. Beef Tongue & Lamb Heart special was excellent - loaded with umami. Blood Sausage and Eggs were great. Dessert of brioche with apples and custard was delicious. Highly recommended!

Very nice Friday dinner. Some of the dishes felt quite basic and haphazard (eggs mayo, apples with gouda), but others were amazing (radicchio salad, pumpkin pie). Also really enjoyed the drinks selection.

Unassuming place when you first walk in but the service is top notch - everyone seems genuinely happy you’re there. The menu changes often so don’t be surprised if what you were planning on getting is no longer available. No matter what you order it will be delicious, simple and then mind blowing because how can a plate of cheese and apples be good - but wow- it is! We ordered honeycrisp apples w gruyere; roasted honeynut squash with sheep gouda; pan seared skate (flaky, light fish) with brown butter, juicy tomatoes and capers. For dessert we ordered baked apple with cold sour cream. Simply delicious - it’s no wonder Bon Appetit named them the best new restaurant in 2022. (Dinner is only on Fridays from 5-9pm!)

Cafe Mutton has a great vibe and friendly service. The menu has a few surprises like head cheese, scrapple, and blood pudding. If you are not feeling adventurous, go with some comfort food, such as rice porridge or a fried bologna sandwich. Definitely recommend.
