This place has never been open. Has been vacant for over 10 years+. They painted a logo and nothing more.

As an Asian I find it very difficult to find decent Asian cuisine in the USA but Golden River is my go-to and I'm glad I found it in 2014. Even my mother, when visiting me from abroad, was impressed with the dishes she ordered. The prices are very fair too. I recommend the thin shell wonton soup and the chicken/beef with broccoli.

The lunch was really bad. General Toes chicken tasted like toes. Smallest lunch portion. Half of a pint of soup instead of a pint. Don't bother, go anywhere instead.

Riverside, NJ, is no longer the thriving Delaware River side town it was in the middle of the last century. Scott Avenue is still a wide expanse well designed for Independence and Veterans Day parades, but the storefronts on either side are now either boarded up or operating as low budget businesses working hard to survive in this dusty backwater now that its industrial base is gone. That is, except for the Golden River Restaurant. Their building has been standing for over one hundred years, taking many forms from drug store to early age department store and appliance outlet. Since about 1992 it has been a restaurant, most recently in its present form as a breakfast/lunch emporium. I stopped in after court in Mt. Holly to see what they had going on. It is a large room with booths and tables up front and an old lunch counter in back. It feels dated, yet comfortable - quietly fitting into the over the hill sensibility of Riverside itself. I took a stool at the counter and was immediately approached by a very friendly server offering Lacas Coffee and a menu. People were shorter a century ago, and I discovered that I could not fit my legs under the counter. I moved over to the end of the row where there was a bit more room due to warpage and a bent stool frame. Fit my 6' 4" fine there. I ordered their Greek Omelette with rye toast, and suggested the chef put the home fries inside the egg case along with the onions, peppers, mushrooms, sausage, feta and whatever else was in there. In the meantime I sipped my joe and chatted with my counter lady and other customers. Everyone was talkative and willing to share their thoughts. Cool! My breakfast was delicious and filling. The eggs were still wet enough to meld with its filling, allowing each element to speak in its own voice, yet harmonize perfectly together. It was definitely a case where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. A splash of hot sauce completed the dish, adding a touch of heat to the rest of the opus. The rye had crunchy texture and sourness, exactly as I like. This was a strong candidate for omelette of the year. As I departed the chef/owner met me at the door to ask after my satisfaction. He was pleased with my reply. Turns out that he had spent years in Trenton and knew many of the same restaurants and lawyers from the capital city where my office is located. A pleasant surprise. I congratulated him on his success in Riverside, and reminded him that his employee at the counter deserved a raise. Hope she gets it.

I've been eating here for decades. Used to be cash only. Now they accept credit cards. Cool ! They never used to deliver. Looks like they do now (delivery services) although I still go pick it up as I'm in the habit of doing so. Plenty of parking available. It's good delicious food 90% of the time. So I keep coming back ! :-) I've tried all the other Chinese places in the area. This is the best. Some places really suck and some are decent but this one has consistently outperformed them all for years and years. I would say, if you don't know, try it out. Personally, I can easily recommend it because I've had great success here most of the time. Pan fried Dumplings and dumpling sauce are great. Spring rolls hit the spot. Noodles are good. Chicken dishes are good. Veggies are delightful - Broccoli and eggplant dishes are so delicious. Nearly all the dishes are pretty good. I've had almost all of the menu over the years and I'm pretty happy and satisfied. I must be since I've been eating here what seems like forever. I've only had a hit or miss relationship with two dishes over the years - General Tso's chicken and Mongolian beef. A few times, the meats were simply not great. Chewy inedible beef is a tragic and horrible thing. Dry chicken just makes me so angry because it is completely unnecessary. For some reason, I've had these particular bad experience at many many Chinese places. I have no idea why. Maybe the supplier sold subpar or bad or outdated food or maybe the restaurant didn't check. Or perhaps it's prepackaged frozen freeze dried meat (General Tso's chicken nuggets) and it wasn't cooked / prepared correctly after they took it out of the freezer ?!?!? Honestly, I don't know why but I do know that I am absolutely not happy when it ends up on my fork. Fortunately, here, it has only occurred a handful of times. I just chalk it up to karma ! (Since this has happened to me at almost every restaurant where I have ordered these dishes) You can imagine my joy and happiness when I order these dishes and they are well done and the meats are perfect !!! Oh yeah - love it ! So, to sum up, I will continue to eat here as long as I live around here - I love it and my family loves it, and when we have guests, they love the food. I'm mostly quite satisfied with the quality of the food and the quick and friendly service, the convenience of the location and the easy parking, and of course, the very reasonable pricing. Overall, I can easily say that this is my go to place whenever I am hungry for delicious Chinese cuisine. It is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, and it will remain as such for the foreseeable future ! By the way, I'm not the only one who digs this place and the food and the friendly service - from my personal experience, and in fact, every time I've been there, they are ALWAYS busy with walk-ins and with people calling in their orders. Come on, there's a reason for that. The reason is that folks know good food and this restaurant is serving it up hot and fresh every day of the week and even every hour of every day, with no signs of slowing down, thank goodness !!! I'm already looking forward to my next order. Thank you and keep up the good work, guys... :-)

Everything was great! First time going to Golden River and we were more than satisfied. We didn't think they would deliver to where we live in Huntington, but they did. Next time we are craving Chinese food we will definitely be calling Golden River. Egg rolls were fresh and not over fried like you'll get at other Chinese food places. Boneless Short ribs were fresh, not fatty at all and perfectly sauced. We enjoyed it all, Thanks Tony!

Singapore mai fun was the best i have had. Egg rolls and lo mein were a tad salty. Wings are cooked very well. Moist and also crispy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Very good menu, quality food and excellent service. You should be aware that the March special does not include the pre fix menu and that there are limited choices for this special deal. Also, I don't believe we received the happy hour pricing on the wine we ordered. The espresso martini was so yummy. Would recommend this restaurant.

This place have got to be the worst place ive Eaten, I won't even begin to talk about they customer service, the food was disgusting, I spent over $80 and the food was terrible... and that's an understatement

This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever had! I found them through Uber Eats. They have forgotten a couple sauces but thats minor compared to how good the food is!

Calm and elegant atmosphere which makes for a wonderful and relaxing special evening and allows for private conversation.

This place blows!!! Food does not even remotely resemble Chinese food I've eaten all my life.
