I’ve always said I would never live in a town that didn’t have a great coffee shop and this is ours. Not only is it comfortable, cozy, lovely, and delicious, it is run by the most wonderful people. The owners are so warm and inviting, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel special and cared for. They are all true friends. I don’t know where I would be without them and this place. I was horrified to see the cafe manager (I presume) kick out a dad with two young kids this morning. The kids were being loud, but they were also toddlers under age three and were disruptive for a cumulative total of perhaps 10 minutes. Evidently other people were complaining, but I truly can’t fathom booting a family from a cafe, into the rain. The manager made a horrible scene in the process and was loudly chastising the father. As a patron, I was much more disturbed by her behavior than by the behavior of the kids; I truly didn’t notice until she started shouting at them, and I was seated just a few seats away. In a town like Hudson, now populated with many young families who are reviving a very stilted and out-of-touch community, this was really appalling thing to see. And as a mother myself, I can’t imagine being in that father’s shoes.
