Met friends for breakfast, fantastic breakfast sandwich (out of avocado :/) but the GF waffle was amazing for my friends with celiac. Great coffee, attentive staff, and the atmosphere is adorable! Bought fresh flowers as we were leaving, highly recommend for breakfast/brunch!

Great atmosphere for lunch or afternoon coffee. Ordered the chicken sandwich and I was very impressed. Their bread source is exceptional. Very friendly

We had a most extraordinary Sunday brunch at The Maker Cafe yesterday. We were there by chance, around 1 pm, and are so glad we found this lovely spot with a most attentive staff. We're not spring chickens, and we much appreciated the help getting seated, the delicious butternut squash soup, the fabulous eggplant alla parmgiana sandwich, the broccoli salad. Thanks to you all - we loved it, and we look forward to coming to the restaurant some evening soon.

Good flat white, excellent croissant (buttery and crispy) and very nice sourdough bread with the sunny side eggs. Service was friendly and the atmosphere is cosy with a tasteful decor. Totally recommended!

While in town we had heard we had to try this place for breakfast. They had a decent breakfast menu, fairly small and to the point. Prices were a bit high but I also get it's a bougee hotel cafe. I ordered a cappuccino and my partner ordered a flat white. You would not have been able to tell the difference between either as they both looked and tasted exactly the same. I personally think a cappuccino should at least always have a little sprinkle of cinnamon on top just to set it apart. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage, in which it came on brioche...I wish I could shout from the roof tops, STOP putting breakfast sandwiches on brioche buns. It might seem fancy but it's too much bread, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE bread, but when I wanna taste the cheese and maple sausage but all I taste is bland bread, it just doesn't do it any justice. My partner got the avocado toast which was very good and exactly how avocado toast should come. The thick bread is necessary with that dish so bravo on that. The atmosphere of the place was perfect but for the price of the small meal, I was a bit underwhelmed. Not to say I wouldn't go back, everything is worth a second try

Average food and service, but great atmosphere! Nice spot to chill and read a book to wind down after some hudson shopping. Lovely ambiance. The service was good but very slow. The chai latte was mediocre, the panne basket was better but would not have it again.

I'm traveling and dropped in for what I hoped was a cup of coffee and a little time to sit and plan my day. The coffee, although insanely overpriced, was fine. However, the absolutely indifferent attitude of every single person behind the counter was a serious turnoff. I'm a writer, and I like to write in coffee shops. I've been in hundreds of them, all over the world. I hate places like this. Hudson isn't Paris, and this place isn't The French Laundry. Nobody said "hello", nobody smiled, nobody gave a shit about me or my experience, obviously. This place had the warmth of an airport ticket counter. To make sure I truly understood how unimportant I was, the young woman behind the counter, who I'd describe as "sullen" handed me my latte in a to-go cup. Here's your coffee, pal, now get out of our nice place. There was road work being done on the street outside, with lots of noise -- jackhammering, cutting concrete, and so on. To attempt to punch through her crust -- and this women was young enough to be my daughter -- I casually said, "Hey, what are they doing outside?" She looked at me for a moment, then with zero expression of interest, said, flatly, "They don't tell us." Then went back to what she was doing. Got it. Never going back. Walked down the street to a small place, Supernatural Coffee, which was great. Go there instead.

Wonderful atmosphere. So cozy and such beautiful design. The food was delicious Italian. Extremely authentic. Not over salted. Drinks were perfect. Wonderful professional staff. Only negative was the wait time for main course and desserts. The desserts took a long time even though the restaurant was emptying out. The only glitch was that one of our party had a full arm cast on and requested that the main dish be cut up for obvious reasons. It came uncut, with the excuse that the chef insisted it retain its "structural integrity". So make of that what you want. Wanted to add that the Crème brûlée was the best I've ever tasted.

Reconsider. If you’re like me, you were given one chance to patch things up with your family - do not come here and waste your time. I could barely make things right with my father because I was constantly chasing around servers for my iced tea refill. The staff was spilling water on our table constantly. The second time they covered it with water, I knew it was on purpose but I had to stay focused on my task ahead, didn’t I. Luckily most of my family had brought a spare pair of dry pants with them so the water turned out not to be a problem (for most of my family). If your garments are destroyed in the process I do recommend the nice boutiques around this establishment where you could refresh your desired apparel. I sincerely wish I had not taken those $50, father, if you read this it was me and you were right all along. Also, some of the songs they played I heard before and I hate when that happens. All in all, I plan to come here one to two times a month at most.

No. The server made no sense. Putting things in weird unstable places, pouring water all over the table and not giving it a wipe even after requested. The Mediterranean tuna sandwich was nice but made no sense either. It was kinda just a tuna sandwich. Why was it called Mediterranean? Why did it cost so much? The focaccia bread was the star. The (ham, I think?) croissant was smooshed flat. Sometimes they'll bring things you ask for. Sometimes they'll check on you. Sometimes.Btw if you don't like other people's lipstick on your water glass don't order the water.

While in Hudson, one morning I stopped at Makers Cafe for breakfast. The ambiance was old world clubby but welcoming. But a hungry traveler would be advised to avoid the ricotta open faced sandwich. Or order two of them. Topped with the freshest of cheese, almonds, figs and local honey-what other type would be permitted?-the sandwich whets your appetite but leaves you unsated. At $18, I label this sandwich A Tease. The cappuccino sidekick was good. But- no heart in my foam? I missed what has become table stakes in the world of coffee, the expressions of love from unknown baristas to me, written in their unique love language. I can't fault this place or the charming pigtailed lass who served me. But like our hero of Oliver Twist, I can't help but wish for...more.

This is a beautiful cafe in a very classy hotel. I came for breakfast on a Tuesday when not much is open in Hudson, NY. I enjoyed a delicious pot of tea, and the almond waffle topped with berries. My server was very helpful and friendly, and I enjoyed the jazz music in the background.

Food was tasty and simple. I wish the sandwich came with a little side but the bun it was on was delicious. The vibe is also very nice!
