We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests.The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors.We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!

Henrietta and Matt are amazing! They have created a beautiful and eclectic place for a large group to stay comfortably and visitors should definitely take advantage of their culinary skills by hiring them to cook a gourmet meal. The leftovers kept everyone happy the next day and we all went around taking pictures of the decor to inspire our own home decorating! The setting is private and nestled next to a pretty pond where the pup I was allowed to bring loved romping. Three stars for location only if you’re looking for a more bustling town but the general area makes for a very pretty drive. My husband and I got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside last month and it’s hard to put into words how wonderful everything was. We knew from the minute we stepped inside that this was the venue for us. The inn is a unique, one of a kind place. The home and the property are truly spectacular.Henrietta was so helpful from the moment we first inquired. She provided detailed, thorough information and was always quick to respond to my questions during the planning process. She made everything leading up to the weekend seamless and worked with us to create our dream wedding. They do all of the catering in house and we had an extensive menu to choose from. The food was incredible and the family style dinner portions were very generous. People are still raving to us about how amazing the food was. Specialty cocktails and bar selections were great as well!!We wound up having 70 guests and the space was perfect for us. I can’t speak highly enough about the entire experience. The weekend and wedding were perfect. Henrietta and Matt really have something special here.

Henrietta was always so responsive over our 17 months of planning, and was always eager to be helpful, even when I asked for ridiculous measurements and requests. She is so kind, so organized, so attentive. Matt made what our guests say is the best wedding food they’ve ever had––and daresay the best meal they’ve had in a while. Everyone also loved the signature drinks. I’m biased, but I think it was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen. People kept complimenting me on what a great job I did¬¬, but the house is just so gorgeous on its own that I really can’t take credit for anything. The foliage was in full bloom around the lake too, and even though it rained, we had ordered a tent for the expansive deck and it was just a beautiful view. My family and bridal party stayed there for the weekend as well, and the rooms were comfortable with private bathrooms.Henrietta and Matt have exquisite taste when it comes to décor and food; and their team’s attention to detail and hospitality was so deeply appreciated on such an important weekend for us. When our tent was installed, they didn’t install the side panels, so Henrietta and Matt were out on the deck installing them for us in the pouring rain. I was unfortunately pretty ill on our big day, and wasn’t able to eat any of the delicious food. The kitchen staff kindly sent me home with leftovers and the bartender kept what we called the “Julia special” just for me: Pedialyte on the rocks. Henrietta made sure our table had crackers for me and I could actually cry right now thinking about how much everyone went out of their way to make sure I was ok.Thank you so much to Henrietta, Matt, and their amazing staff.

We hosted our wedding here in September of 2023. Everything was flawless. In the months leading up, Henrietta was attentive, thoughtful, and patient in helping us coordinate everything. Matt is a wizard in the kitchen. Your guests won't get the typical subpar wedding food, but food that feels home-cooked with love. The venue itself is gorgeous with amazing touches throughout that will add to the uniqueness of your event. 11/10, highly recommend.
