While staying at Scribner’s, we wanted to give Prospect a try since it was so close and very cold out. Was very surprised with the quality of everything. Flavors are good but everything is fresh. My only gripe is that the fries with the burger are a bit too oily. The cocktails were delicious and were made perfectly. This is a great option if you’re staying nearby and don’t want to travel too far, would definitely recommend and I’d definitely come back again if I was staying here in the future.

Stayed at Scribner’s so naturally we had to check out the restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and a bunch of the options were gluten free.

There are a lot of fancy cocktails too and even mocktails.

We ordered the beet salad with creamy goat cheese. My husband ordered the tile fish and I ordered the butternut squash risotto, which was out of this world. I was so full I had to force myself to stop eating it it was that good.

Service was great, there was a 21 person party there but our food came out relatively quickly. All wait staff were friendly!

Definitely a place to stop by even if for just a fun cocktail.

I really enjoyed the food and views here - 5 stars. I had the steak for dinner and the smash burger and fries for lunch. Best burger I've ever had - so simple but so so good. The only concern was cleanliness of the staff (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars). Thankfully, these weren't my servers, but if you're petting a dog, I would think you should wash your hands before going back to handling food/drink. Another waiter cleaning a table wiped the contents off onto the floor and just left it there. Overall, very friendly and helpful service, but I'd love to see them tighten up on sanitation.

Overpriced. $250 for two people, cold entrees, food just average, service forgettable. Don't bother.

All the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The meats are highly recommended, and the burger is also a must-try. The bar shares the space with the restaurant, creating a very cozy and warm atmosphere. It’s a perfect place for any occasion.

We ate dinner here.

The waitress and waiter were perfect. The bread with the mix of butters was a great way to start the meal. The Sauvignon blanc went down really well.

If I could find any faults it was the fries could have been a bit hotter and the duck could have been served with a bit more carbs.

On the whole this was a really good meal that far exceeded expectations for a 4.2 rating.

We visited in late October for a meal at 6pm so we had a good 30 mins of sunset to catch the beautiful sweeping views of the mountain backdrop. The decor is simple and elegant, mostly charcoal grey with natural wood and green accents- perfect for an Upstate getaway experience. The booth we sat in was spacious and cute, the only downside was the seat not having any padding (the wood bench was rough on our tailbones). Food was outstanding and generously portioned. We ate the bread and butter (delicious seasonal butter options - pumpkin spice, white truffle, & mocha) to share, plus the seasonal autumn salad. The salad was delightful with seasonal fruits: pear, plum, blackberry and some others. Individually for entree we ate the Tile Fish, Magret Duck Breast, and 16oz Rib Eye.
The Tile Fish had a beautifully crispy skin and firm, but tender, flaky meat on a bed of beurre blanc, shaved asparagus and shaved almonds with trout roe and caviar on top. The flavor was incredible and fresh. It paired well with the sour beer on draft with notes of fruit and berries.
The duck was delightful and a generous portion. Seasoning on the duck was great- savory with a touch of sweetness. Lastly, the ribeye was perfectly cooked medium rare with a crispy sear and creamy mashed potatoes and peas on the side. Our server was very knowledgeable when explaining the dishes and ingredients for some who are food sensitive in our party, and very friendly when checking on us without us feeling like they were hovering. They were also really sweet in bringing out delicious vanilla bean ice cream for two of us celebrating birthdays!
