I can’t say enough good things about Prospect at Scribner’s. From the moment we arrived everything just felt right cozy but upscale vibe, beautiful mountain views, and that perfect cabin-chic atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
The food was incredible, every dish fresh and full of flavor, and the cocktails were just as impressive. The staff couldn’t have been better — friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our night special. Worth every penny for the quality, the view, and the experience. Easily one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time.

We had late dinner at Prospect at Scribner’s in the afternoon. We ordered fish, duck, a burger, and a few drinks, and were enjoying our meal. Originally, we had requested a specific table we really wanted, but were told it was already reserved, so we were seated elsewhere instead. The food was fine, though the duck was rather disappointing. Overall, it wasn’t particularly impressive for a hotel restaurant. Still, we were enjoying ourselves, having wine and a nice conversation. However, during the meal, the waitress kept coming by too frequently, taking our plates away as if they were rushing us. So we decided to order another glass of wine each because we liked the atmosphere and wanted to stay a little longer. But soon after ordering, the server suddenly brought us the check without even asking if we were ready for it. So we asked her why she was rushing us like that. Sure enough, she said that our table was reserved for another party in about 15 minutes. We were quite surprised and asked to speak with the manager, because we had never experienced something like this before being rushed out of a high end hotel restaurant.
A manager named Emily came over, she told our table is reserved. To make things even more absurd, the table we originally wanted, the one they told us was reserved was actually still empty. So we asked and they said the rsvp got cancelled.. haha And honestly, half of restaurant was empty. We asked her if it was because we hadn’t spent enough money, (we ordered about $320) or if this was actually part of the restaurant’s policy. We’ve never been treated this way at any restaurant and asked what they would have done if we had ordered more wine instead By that point, our mood was completely ruined. We asked for the names of the manager and our server to report the incident to upper management. when we asked for the name, she simply ignored us and walked away. It was truly a disappointing and unpleasant experience from a guest’s perspective.

Really unique experience, unique but smaller menu, bar is an awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The Beet Risotto was out of this world.

We were staying across the street, but wanted a nice meal in the area. We were extremely impressed with the food and cocktails - actually one of the best meals we have ever had!
The only complaint is that the lighting is very low, which made it difficult to see the menu and our food. Would recommend the mini touch lights on each of the tables.
Other than that, would highly recommend eating here if you are in the area.

Scribner’s Catskill Lodge was the perfect start to our Catskills getaway. The food was outstanding and the cocktails were spot on. A special highlight was meeting Chef Alejandro Reyes, who personally stopped by our table—such an honor to meet a chef from Puebla, Mexico! The flavors really shined and made the meal memorable. My only small note would be that the wine list could be updated with more unique options to complement the dishes. Overall, an incredible dining experience that I highly recommend.

we really enjoyed every single dish, especially miso glaze celery root appetizer and beet risotto. a great amount of vegan options, tender steak that my boyfriend enjoyed a lot, 10/10 crispy fries and immaculate, warm service by Daria - all made our experience unforgettable! a fire area right outside of the place added to the cozy vibe. thank you to the whole team for being on top of service, food and atmosphere!

The view is great, and food was good, but when we came in the place was understaffed and our food arrived late and cold. We weren't comped for anything and still had to wait a while to get and then pay the bill.
Menu is quite limited and substitutions weren't available, so I'd recommend reviewing the options in advance.

We had a pretty terrible experience here, mostly due to the service. The food took 50+ minutes to arrive and was only served to us after we told them it’s been almost an hour and no food yet, then it arrived cold and overcooked so it probably sat out a long time. The waitress was also pretty unfriendly, forgot to ask all of us what we were ordering and left mid sentence, recommended something opposite to what we asked and didn’t say anything when we didn’t drink it, and overall just did a really poor job of attentiveness / helpfulness. They cut you off and don’t make any adjustments to the food, basically feels like they don’t want you there

I enjoyed my meals here, the granola bowl for breakfast was fresh and satisfying, and the burger for dinner was okay, not cooked to my liking. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere too!

Very limited menu tab,the food was expensive and the portions relatively small. Even by European standard. No possibility of purchase of sides. The price on the bill was wrong, as we had to pay was however corrected with an excuse. The food itself was delicious, bar touch of Nordic cook.

Great gourmet food served amid numerous dogs. We reserved a table. We were first led to a table for two with a great view of the mountains, a table placed directly over a floor AC/heat vent -- the cold air shot up my pants. I went back to the hostess to ask for a different table (or, they could have moved the table a few feet away, but I guess some diners appreciate the icy blast). We were led to wooden booths (no cushioning for backs or bottoms) where, once I sat down, the table pressed against my chest -- with no chance of getting a napkin on my lap (I'm 6'2', 225 lbs, and take a size 38 pants waist, so a huge belly is not my problem). But no icy blast, so we stayed put. Then the dogs -- owners with multiple dogs on leashes -- began coming in: the hostess desk is in the middle of the floor, not at the outside entrance, so guests wanting to reserve a table on the patio outside, where dogs were welcome and plentiful, had to wait online not far from our booth. But it became obvious that dogs were also allowed to sit next to tables inside. So the food and wine (at New York City prices), and the service, was excellent. But a romantic meal in the mountains? Not unless barking heightens your mood.
