Beautiful decor and vibes, very small cozy place with beautiful cultural pieces. The service was really good and attentive too. We had the bolani, sambosa, and mantu for apps. The bolani was so flavorful and tasted homemade. Some afghan places just fill it with plain potatoes but this had herbs and spices, it was really good. Sambosa was good too, nice and crispy outside, the meat inside was just a tad dry. The mantu was delicious too, the dumpling dough melted in your mouth, it was not chewy or gummy at all. And the meat inside was nice and flavorful, I do wish more came, considering the price point. For mains, we had the beef kebab with qabuli rice. Best I've had, and I've had alot of afghan food. The meat was full of flavor and we asked for spicy and you could taste that they used fresh green chillis. The rice was so flavorful, tasted like an afghan grandma made it lol. I've only ever had kabuli rice taste like that when my friend made it for me. We also had the chicke korma which was delicious. We even ordered some okra to take home and it was really good too. I love their sauces too, esp their red one. Very fresh. You can tell they don't cut corners. And finally, their ice cream was divine, wish I could buy a pint. It's not just yellow in color, you could literally see they used ground up saffron threads, there were tiny red specks. I'm just very sad we only recently discovered this place and its already shutting down, the owner seemed so sweet but also so stressed. I hope whatever happens its for the better, but I will miss this place :/
Perfect dining experience. Food was flavorful and delicate, the server was very kind and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and has calm and legit vibes.Probably the most elegant taste dumpling I’ve ever had, pumpkin stew was just amazing, and chai with pistachio topping as dessert was just about right. Everything about dining in here was so good!
Fresh, flavorful and delicious! The meats and fish are spiced perfectly. Kabuli rice is a must! The ashok and bolani kochaloo were amazing. Saffron ice cream with pistachios was a nice mixture of flavors and a perfect end to the meal. Extra perk Byob!

The food was so delicious and authentic! We had Mandu appetizer, lamb tikki, beef and potato korma, and baklava. The baklava was one of the best I've tasted. The dining room is very small so make sure to make a reservation.
Probably the best afghani food in Long Island now. And I’ve literally tried all of them. Quality, flavors and the people cannot be beat. Lots of great options on the island but this is the best. It’s the best in NY/NJ hands down actually.
You very rarely find a place with a live amazing atmosphere, mouthwatering food, and warm laughter. Afghan Kitchen 44 provides every aspect of that. Not only is the food a delicious 10/10 with every flavorsome bite, but the hospitality beats any other restaurant you’ve been too. You don’t believe me? Come grab a bite and see for yourself!

The most amazing food and service. Didn't realize chicken meat could be as juicy and tender as Afghan Kitchen 44 makes it. Don't sleep on the pumpkin stew -- it is the star of the show. The three sauces they serve are to die for as well.
AH-MAZING!! I love absolutely everything about this warm, friendly, family-owned restaurant. The food is absolutely wonderful - so fresh and flavorful, and they have great options for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.I love the tandoori chicken kebabs and always order extra for lunch the next day (they're great on top of a salad). They actually sell tubs of their homemade Afghan white sauce which is full of delicious herbs - we picked some up last time we were there and are obsesed. I also highly recommend the pumpkin. Everything we've tried has been exceptional, and the owners are SO hospitable and could not be kinder. This place is not to be missed!!
I love the Mantu dumplings, stuffed flatbread and the beef kebabs. They also have an amazing pumpkin stew which is great as soon as the cooler weather hits. We takeout probably once a week and the food is consistently prepared and always tastes great. The dishes all have a ton of flavor and Afghan 44 has become one of our local favorites. Highly recommend!

Best meal I've had in ages! The lamb skewer is exceptionally delicious and the sauces are to die for. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend a meal here!
Delicious! Had the beef stew (korma) and tandoori chicken. Both were perfectly spiced. Palow rice was tasty as well.
oh my god!!! absolutely so delish!!! i knew this was going to be good just based off the reviews, however, blew my expectations off the chart. i will be going back as soon as possible. i got the chicken tandoori and eggplant. WOW!!!! so good!!!!!!!!
Incredible food & super authentic! Go to spot for Afghan food. The owners make you feel like you’re at home! Highly recommend
Afghan Kitchen 44 is the number one destination for Afghan cuisine in the NYC metro area. What a fantastic find! This Huntington Village gem takes authenticity to the next level with their skewers, stews, sides, and most of all the warmth and hospitality you feel while you are dining here. The decor is equally impressive. Do NOT overlook the appetizers; the scallion-filled bread and mantu are exceptional and I am dreaming of my next trip to have the aushak (for which there is also a vegetarian option). We shared chicken qorma, lamb tikka, and a delicious eggplant stew. The qorma is a warm, savoury, and earthy combination of spices, the lamb perfectly seasoned and grilled, and eggplant was tender and also beautifully seasoned. For a small fee we had our entrees served with the house pulao; perfectly cooked rice with carrots, raisins, and onions. Finally, for dessert was homemade saffron ice cream, laced with rose water and cardamom and topped with crumbled pistachio. A pot of cardamom tea washes everything down. Do NOT miss out on dining in this delectable establishment with such gracious hospitality; make a reservation for this weekend right now! ? ?? ❤
