Angelina was amazing from start to finish! She recommended some of her favorite dishes, and we went with the Chilean sea bass and the salmon—both were incredible. She checked in on us throughout the meal and made us feel so well taken care of. We’ll definitely be back! Hopefully next time when there isn’t a wedding so we can explore the castle too. Such a beautiful place and a 10/10 experience overall.

Leaving a three stars only due to the service at the restaurant. The ambience and record is definitely five stars. Food quality great too but service last night for a dinner was less than ideal. Our server was quite curt and demanded in a way that we make our orders for apps and entrees same time even though we explained we were not ready with our dinner choices. I wanted to know if rice was available with my shrimp entree instead of pasta and she said she would let me know. I also did not want calamari included in the meal. She never returned to let me know. I called her when I saw her and asked about it and she said that yes rice was available. My entree came with shrimp over pasta and rice as side entree. I assumed rice was on the house. Later I saw rice as extra charge and when I asked she said she thought I wanted rice as side if available. Prices at this place are pretty steep but that’s ok since it’s worth a visit. But to pay more for a server’s mistake or confusion is not right. I asked for it be removed and she asked “did you eat it”. I did take couple of spoons as I assumed it was included. I was charged same price for the entree even though I removed the calamari. The sever was not yo be found easily as there seemed ti be limited number of them so for me to clarify would have meant wanting a long time. Paid $15 for the small serving of rice but should not have been there. Our group also only asked two sides of mashed potatoes but got three and again was same response that she thought one other person ordered if too. Hope the severs are better trained. Will still go back as this was my third visit and two previous ones were super.
Went on a random Friday for lunch. Great ambiance and beautiful property. The owner Gary Melius walks around greeting guests. He was so nice to my son, gave him coloring book and treats. Food took a while but was alright. The crab cake was good! Overall, nice ambiance and atmosphere.

Where do I start? Everything here is amazing, from food, staff and ambience. My husband and I came here to celebrate an anniversary and it was everything I could have wanted. Our waitress Angelina was great. She even offered to take photos of us after dinner which was so sweet. We took so many photos. The mansion and grounds are stunning! The food was top notch. I ate everything on my plate. We had calamari with a perfect marinara sauce, crab cake, pork chops, chilean sea bass and the pastry puffs for dessert. I wish we could have stayed at the hotel but it was full for the weekend. We will definitely be coming back!

Came to OHK for a friends birthday. The grounds are beautiful and pretty much the only reason why I gave OHK 4 stars and not less. The grounds are well taken care of and the views are stunning. The restaurant itself makes you feel as if you're in France or Italy. The ambiance is fantastic.
Now lets get to the food. The food is underwhelming and mediocre at best. OHK is not fine dining and if you believe this is fine dining, then you've never eaten at a fine dining restaurant before. We ordered the octopus as an appetizer which was very tough and I couldn't eat it. The charcuterie board was phenomenal - 5 starts to charcuterie. Since I always order fish everywhere I go, I decided to live a little and change it up. I ordered the chicken parmesan. When that came out it looked like a sandwich. Very disappointing. It was a thick, dry piece of meat with cheese stuffed inside. The capellini cake it comes with was gross and I only had one bite of it.
While the service was friendly, they were slow (I attributed this to them being short staffed but I don't know for sure). There are certain elements of fine dining that require execution. Appetizer plates should be picked up BEFORE placing down entrees. Entrees should be coordinated to be placed at the same exact time instead of one at a time having those that received their food waiting for the others. There is also a base/server plate that is placed on the table and the entrees sit on top of this plate in fine dining. OHK does not have a base plate.
While this may sound trivial, THIS is fine dining and if you call yourself that and charge fine dining prices then this is what is expected.
Overall, come here for the experience but don't expect great food.

Food was outstanding, waitress was friendly and attentive. Location is unbelievably gorgeous. Walked down a hallway that brings you back in time. Almost like an old museum.

I had high expectations given the pricing on the menu and my friend’s many previous visits. My experience today was similar to many of the low star reviews on here. I go to restaurants to, hopefully, eat food superior to what I can make at home. The brewed iced tea was bitter…so I switched to Coke…which was flat. I landed on lemonade which, despite the “we make it ourselves” tasted like “we stir the mix.” Even the water had an institutional undertone probably indicating they need a new filter.
As an appetizer, I ordered the panko chicken. If you know panko, you know that they are Japanese fresh bread crumbs designed to give food a light and crispy texture when fried. These were drenched in some kind of soy based sauce so they weren’t crunchy as much as gummy. Also, they weren’t panko covered but breaded with what appeared to be corn flakes. My distinct impression was that they weren’t cooked for me but previously made and doused in the sauce to cover this up and possibly reheated.
As my entree, I had the $50 petit filet which I referred to as a “$23 petit filet” because it was of lesser quality, arriving cold and with more than an acceptable amount of gristle for such an expensive steak. The accompanying spinach was good and the mashed potatoes were excellent. As sides, we had ordered roasted Brussels sprouts. I had one bite and had to remove it because it had a hard as a toothpick base still attached…quite a few of them did. Cutting off the bottoms, they were well-cooked and flavorful but an unpleasant surprise if you ate them whole.
The service was pleasant but very slow and not especially attentive. The room itself isn’t the grandiose space that I’d imagined but rather a rehabbed remnant of a burned out area. The formal dining areas are impressive and I’d assumed that the restaurant was housed in one of them. I guess they’re solely for catered events. Definitely walk around to get a better sense of the opulence of this once grand home.
In fairness, my friend ordered the shrimp cocktail which was good and the fondue (which he was content with but was nothing like fondue) and salmon for his entree which he enjoyed. This is the reason I gave it two stars instead of one. I don’t feel the need to ever go there again though we were given a $500 gift card and this lunch ate up only half of that including the tip. (We didn’t order alcohol).
As mentioned in other reviews, get a cocktail, wander around, but maybe leave and have dinner somewhere where you know they have great food. As Oheka’s in bankruptcy restructuring, I don’t imagine the situation will change anytime soon. For the price, it’s a mediocre meal and it should be at the top of its game.

A very cordial experience to dine with other fine guests at the Oheka Castle dining room. Excellent selection from the food and wine list plus dessert menu. I enjoyed my stay there after the tour of the Oheka Castle. The wait staff were absolutely great and very attentive to the customers request and needs. Bravo!!

My sister-in-law invited us to lunch here, saying we would be eating in a castle. I was a little confused at first, but when we arrived and saw the old castle hidden in the neighborhood of Huntington, it immediately felt like stepping into a fairytale.
Since it was winter, the surroundings felt a bit quiet and empty, but the historic building itself made it feel like a special destination rather than just a regular lunch spot. When we stepped inside, the interior felt almost like entering a museum, with a classic and historic atmosphere. On the second floor, the small dining room overlooking the garden felt cozy and intimate.
Compared to the beautiful setting, the service felt somewhat casual and ordinary. The staff were polite but gave the impression of working in a more casual restaurant rather than a place with such a unique atmosphere.
The menu was also surprisingly simple. There were only three main entrée choices — steak, chicken, and fish — which felt a bit like selecting a main dish at a wedding reception.
Because the main dishes didn’t feel especially appealing, we decided to order appetizers, salads, and a burger instead. The crab cake had a slightly strong seafood smell and wasn’t particularly memorable for the price. The cheeseburger was good and tasted like a high-quality burger, but it didn’t feel especially unique. The truffle fries served with it were actually the highlight of the meal.
The salad with prosciutto, burrata, and balsamic dressing was nice, though it would have been even better if it had been served with some bread on the side.
Dessert, however, was the most enjoyable part of the meal. The presentation was beautiful and the taste helped make up for some of the earlier disappointment.
Overall, while the food was somewhat average, the atmosphere and setting are truly special. It’s the kind of place that feels unique enough that I would consider bringing family or visitors at least once for the experience.

Really happy with my experience. They were helpful and able to accommodate my food restrictions. They had our car ready for us as soon as we got downstairs, no waiting.
