I honestly think there were only 2 people working in this whole place when we went- a waitress and a cook. Saw no one else. Just really weird vibe. Food was ok but expected much more for the cost. We had 6 in our party. Maybe they are better with 2 or 4? Idk

Waitress could not be bothered
When asked how I wanted done I said chefs choice to be rudely retorted we don’t do that here decide.
Tables had long black hair on them
Should have realized what I was in for seeing the 3-4 cat food bowls outside
“Chianti” I order was not Chianti. No explanations of specials or any of the pomp you are expecting at these prices.
“Rustic” walls and old chopping boards decoration are not enough to give a place character
The “garlic encrusted ribeye” had absolutely no flavor undercooked and over cooked. steak sauce was just cocktail sauce and not a good one. The phrase dogs dinner is the only words I can describe.

Terrible service! Don’t go here.
Don't go. From the moment my wife and I walked in, we actually had to say "is anyone home?" While who we thought was a waitress but turned out to be the owner, ignored us for 5 minutes. We got there early, around 6:15 and thought ? well that's probably why nobody else is here. It only got worse, ripped off by four turns on a 12.00 bottle of wine charging us 45.00. The service was non existent and after attempting to engage the owner in conversation we were abruptly shut down. She would even smile.
The baked clams must have been from restaurant depot, hideous. The steak ? sad, overcooked and flavorless, creamed spinach was probably the only thing that was a winner but with tip, our bill for two was just under 400.00. Pack it in lady, you're doing your community a disservice by taking hard earned money from good folks looking for a pleasant night out, you ruined our night. Your surly attitude only adds insult to injury as you clip our wallets for less than mediocre food and service, try smiling. If you hate what you're doing, close up, seriously, if ever this place once rocked, its over now. Ive been dining out for a living in Manhattan for most of my adult life as an ad rep for a national newspaper, this, was by far the single worst dining experience I have ever had the displeasure of enduring. As my wife ate, dust from a dirty overhead fan was falling like snow on the lapels and food, good lord clean the place at least. Sorry, if your reading this maybe you'll close up and save and future victims the pain of being robbed, or hire a staff that enjoys being in the restaurant business. The experience and food are severely overpriced.

This is a tough one because the steak was AWESOME. The vegetables & baked potatoes were as well. Good service too! I even enjoyed the funky musty/decrepit old steak house vibe. But, the prices... C'mon! WHERE on EARTH (besides Manhattan or the Hamptons) does one pay $230+ for a steak and 2 drinks for 2 people? Look... I get it - Bidenomics is pervasive. But I'll NEVER again go to eat steak at a place where I come out feeling completely hosed when there's an Outback or a Spare Rib a mile down the road! Are the cheaper place's steaks as good? Probably not. But is PG's steak $230 better? Absolutely NOT!

My father called at 6:00 and asked when they could best accommodate a table of 3. They said 7:30 so we got there then, and waited 20 minutes at the bar with no bartender after asking for drinks during the wait.I have no problem waiting but they ignored us entirely and we walked out after 20 minutes and went to Bivio next door. They clearly only had two servers and no bartender for the entire restaurant and refuse to turn away customers hoping they’ll begrudgingly shell out hundreds rather than just not providing a subpar experience. They should have just told us it’s too busy and to please come back. I feel bad leaving a bad review but hopefully this is a rare occurrence and not a consistent thing. Will try again eventually.

What an awful way to end the evening. My hubby wanted to support this local steakhouse. We went, the service was not very friendly, but I was still optimistic about the food.I had a few pieces of steak, then found this METAL piece of SOMETHING IN MY FOOD. It was NOT aluminum foil but a PIECE of hard metal. My hubby and I speculated that it could have come from the knife that cut the steak, but when we told the server, he did not care or apologize for this.In the picture, we pulled the piece of metal to the side of the plate to the right and the second picture shows the piece in question.I suppose I am more upset that no one cared to address the issue. We did not cause a scene but my heart was racing because what if I ate that piece? I could have chipped a tooth! Honestly, not looking for a comp or anything just some recognition that this was a mistake on their part and at least act apologetic.Obviously will never return.

TLDR: Don't go.I unfortunately never enjoy writing negative reviews. I have eaten at a range of steakhouses and think there is value in the spectrum of costs, this establishment I had high hopes for as it came as a recommendation from a friend. However, even given my aversion to being disrespectful I am going to tell this friend that they should not suggest this location to save themselves from embarrassment. I am by no means a snob but the service was quite bad (had to ask for a menu, never got bread, then had to ask for a wine menu as well, all of this has always been routine at everything from Morton's to Outback) and unfortunately the steak was exceptionally over cooked and by that I mean charred. The side dish was not much better and I hate the fact that I even am writing this review, but I hope this saves someone's first date or celebration event.

PG Steakhouse is a hidden gem. very rustic and homey.the ribeye could feed 4, but i finished half of it.the homefries are unlike anything that i have ever tasted. phenomenal. our hostess, Jeannette, was very attentive. all in all, a great dining experience. we will return soon.
