Not sure where to start... the disrespectful attitude the second I walked in? Or the 2 hours I spent sitting in those god awful chairs? No, lets start with how I was the youngest diner in there by at least 20 years and got below expected service from an "upscale" restaurant. Mind you, the restaurant only had like 12 tables, and there were 2 waiters. Both servers were much older which made me believe theyve been doing this for a while. Nonetheless, I had a reservation for 7 pm. When i walked in, there was almost a shock to the waiter that more people were coming to eat. At that point i was told to sit "wherever". As i proceeded to sit down at 2 person table with my girlfriend, i was told NOT to sit there and sit at the table next to it. I started to apologize as if it was my fault that "wherever" meant the table he originally expected us to sit in. Took the waiter about 15 minutes to come back and ask us what we wanted to drink (keep in mind I had no menu in my hand). Didnt even bother to offer us a wine list, which I didnt need because we were not drinking that night (I am 25 and my girlfriend is 23), but purely out principle and respect? I should have at least had the option to look at it. Then 10 minutes after we ordered waters, we finally got the menu. Had PLENTY of time to decide what to have for apps and our entree. Honestly, i had enough time to memorize the entire menu and recite it back to the waiter by the time he got back. When the waiter came back, we decided that to save time, wed put in the entire order for the night (apps and entree) Took them another 45 min to bring out 3 baked clams, and a caesar salad. I will say the food was great but not enough to trump the awful service. We had finished eating the apps and the bread that came with the table, and left it at the edge of the table to let the wait staff know we were done with that and would like it cleared. The 2 servers mustve walked past our table 10 times before it was picked up. My water was not filled once during those trips that passed my table, and it was empty. I didn't even have a chance to ask them for a refill because they wouldnt even give us the time of day. Finally at 8:40 pm we got our entree, which again was delicious. Finished by 8:50 and asked for the check. Took them a total of 15 min to bring out the check and another 10 to bring me my receipt. I have respect for the people that work in the food service industry, I have done it myself when i was in college. It is no easy task. But by no means was the restaurant packed, and by no means should normal, not out of the ordinary wait staff responsibility be thrown out the window. I wish i could say i would be coming back, because the food was really good. My compliments to the chef as he produced a wonderful t bone, and all the sides we ordered. It is a shame.

My father called at 6:00 and asked when they could best accommodate a table of 3. They said 7:30 so we got there then, and waited 20 minutes at the bar with no bartender after asking for drinks during the wait.I have no problem waiting but they ignored us entirely and we walked out after 20 minutes and went to Bivio next door. They clearly only had two servers and no bartender for the entire restaurant and refuse to turn away customers hoping they’ll begrudgingly shell out hundreds rather than just not providing a subpar experience. They should have just told us it’s too busy and to please come back. I feel bad leaving a bad review but hopefully this is a rare occurrence and not a consistent thing. Will try again eventually.

What an awful way to end the evening. My hubby wanted to support this local steakhouse. We went, the service was not very friendly, but I was still optimistic about the food.I had a few pieces of steak, then found this METAL piece of SOMETHING IN MY FOOD. It was NOT aluminum foil but a PIECE of hard metal. My hubby and I speculated that it could have come from the knife that cut the steak, but when we told the server, he did not care or apologize for this.In the picture, we pulled the piece of metal to the side of the plate to the right and the second picture shows the piece in question.I suppose I am more upset that no one cared to address the issue. We did not cause a scene but my heart was racing because what if I ate that piece? I could have chipped a tooth! Honestly, not looking for a comp or anything just some recognition that this was a mistake on their part and at least act apologetic.Obviously will never return.

TLDR: Don't go.I unfortunately never enjoy writing negative reviews. I have eaten at a range of steakhouses and think there is value in the spectrum of costs, this establishment I had high hopes for as it came as a recommendation from a friend. However, even given my aversion to being disrespectful I am going to tell this friend that they should not suggest this location to save themselves from embarrassment. I am by no means a snob but the service was quite bad (had to ask for a menu, never got bread, then had to ask for a wine menu as well, all of this has always been routine at everything from Morton's to Outback) and unfortunately the steak was exceptionally over cooked and by that I mean charred. The side dish was not much better and I hate the fact that I even am writing this review, but I hope this saves someone's first date or celebration event.

The food is simply amazing, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The atmosphere and staff is very different than other steakhouses I’ve been to however it was the most charming aspect. Our waitress was so attentive, and kind. The restaurant is older, it’s nice and quiet, and we enjoyed this so much to actually be alone or without so many people. 10/10 would go back!

Food was good. The stuffed clams were excellent my wedge salad was very delicious and the filet mignon was also very good. My husband enjoyed his excellent shrimp cocktail and a lobster tail. Some other reviewers said they had a good wine list. There is no wine list there are just several choices of house wine, cabernet was okay. Service was excellent our waitress was fantastic and attentive and very nice. Atmosphere.. the place is a very old, like, historically old. Watress will tell you about it if you ask. It's no frills as other people have said.

Old world style steak dinners with the classic sides and trimming. We hadn't been there in a number of years but went back for a special event and we were very pleased. Give it a try

Absolute must try for anyone who has never been. Smaller, quiet place with EXCELLENT steaks. Sides are very good as well, must try the slab bacon. Price is comparable to other steakhouses in the higher end category but the service and atmosphere for a quaint quiet night out with very good food can’t be beat.

Truthful Review

Another couple and us heard this was a good steak house and we love steak. To be honest, we became concerned when we entered seeing an empty bar, no place to hang a jacket, and more empty tables than full. However, I have to admit, the food was really good. All four of us left saying this was really a good meal.
