After a visit to the FDR Estate, we decided to try Coppola’s in Hyde Park on Albany Post Road for dinner. WOW! Growing up in the Bronx and Brooklyn I’ve had my share of excellent Italian food, and that is exactly what we had at Coppola’s. Don’t walk…RUN!…to Coppola’s in Hyde Park NY, with beginnings in Poughkeepsie NY back in 1961. Big thanks to our server, Courtney, who was pleasant, professional and guided our way through a fantastic dinner experience. BTW…you can buy their sauces to take home! Oh Yeah! Much appreciation to the Coppola’ s Team with another big shout-out to the Chef!

A classic American Italian restaurant. The potato gnocchi were spot on and I got exactly what I wanted. The seafood chowder that came with it was really good, too. The dessert was a total disappointment, the cheesecake didn't look or taste fresh, and it was too sweet with little flavor.
The waitress was very nice and attentive. I'll definitely be back.

Not recommended. Dated but with potential, Service was ok to nice but it doesn’t make it up for the terrible food. Tried the shrimp and chicken with linguini and I can’t describe the taste of everything but particularly the chicken.

Went here for lunch today and tried the beef braciole.
Super tasty, soft and meaty, 3 large balls of beef and some penne pasta to complement. Just the right amount without over doing it.
Followed by a coffee which was good too.
This place once hosted Richard Nixon for lunch. Spoke with the owner John who is friendly and passionate about the food and the business . His father came over from Naples to set it all up after the WW2. He’s now 92 and still comes to help cook daily.
Some great stories shared by John about the family and food. Nicely laid out restaurant. Worth a visit when on the trail heading to Catskills!

We went for the lunch special. I had a really good beef stroganoff. The rice balls were to die for. Could have made a meal out of those. Our waitress was very attentive. It's a beautiful place. Definitely want to go back and try something for dinner. If you were up in the Hyde Park area, it's definitely a place you want to stop for a meal!

I had the stuffed sole, which was on the small side. Was not aware that it came with a generous portion of pasta. Tasty dish.

First went to Copppols in the 70s on Main St. Poughkeepsie ! Wonderful ! Food is always good ! However Hyde Parks recent visit was kind of sad !The carpet on the floors is so old ,dirty, and smells. The ladies room is a disaster. The food of course was good as always but a shot of bar vodka $15 come on !!!!
We went here for a family dinner. The food was horrible. My salad was overdressed and I could barely eat half of it. Other family members felt the same. I had the garlic and oil spaghetti and it was terrible. The spaghetti was all clumped together and there was no garlic in it at all. No one finished their meal it was so bad. Our server was nice and that was the only good thing. Worst restaurant I have been to. Not sure why there are all the 5 star ratings? Place was pretty empty, so that should have told us something. Definitely would not return or recommend.
