“Loved it. Everything was so fresh and the students do a great job of executing a fine dining experience. My favorite course was the escargot. The garlic sauce dipped in the bread was amazing. The salt on the butter was delicious. My duck was very tender and the sauce was just right not too sweet. My creme brulee had delicious bits of vanilla. Overall a great lunch. I would recommend to try. It was also very casual which was a plus.”

“I'm not easily impressed but Joseph's Italian Steakhouse really hit a home run on all levels. Best Prime Rib I've ever had, so tasty and cooked perfectly. The sides we equally delicious which elevated my whole experience. The hospitality was superb and judging by the looks on other patrons' faces, I assume others had a similar experience.”

“We have gone to Nanas before for ice cream, always had a great experience with the staff and food. We even use them as a go to for kids gifts- they feel so cool getting their own 10$ gift certificates to spend 🫢😊We have used another ice cream truck the last few years for my daughters party in the summer, and this year they are no longer available. I saw Nanas post they had gotten an ice cream truck and it was even better than the other one! They have soft serve which was great for adults , tons of novelty ice creams for the kiddos and was much more affordable than the other company. We can’t say enough how great they were! Thanks again”

“We visited on a Friday afternoon in late June 2025. There were plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot when we arrived. There were a few that were shaded by trees but they were all taken.

The restaurant is located near the bathrooms around the corner from the information desk when you first enter. Just go in and head towards the right hallway.

We didn't actually eat here but I stepped in quick to check it out while everyone was going to the restroom.

There were a number of tables and bench seating and it looked like there was outside seating as well under a large pavilion roof. It looked like there was enough space to move in between the tables nicely with a wheelchair or stroller.

The food prices are higher than you expect but normal for a museum cafeteria like this at a tourist attraction. It looked like they had food options for picky eaters as well. Large selection of premade sandwiches and salads so you can just grab and go if you're in a hurry. The food did look fresh and not like it had been sitting there for days.

Overall the visitor center was a great place to visit. There was so much more we could've done here and explored but we were short on time. I think if we were ever in the area again we would visit and I wouldn't' hesitate to grab some food here either.”

“This is my favorite little spot, everyone is friendly, usually a low key place. 2 pool tables (quarters, $2 a game, nice diamond tables) and a small selection of food, but they never give us a hard time about ordering delivery there. OTB, Scratch off machine, and a covered picnic bench outside.”

“Hyde Park pizza place has very good pizza more often than not. Wings were a hit but now they are overcooked. This past Sunday however I ordered BBQ chicken pizza and when I arrived 30 minutes later, they all didn't know where my pizza was. They asked if I wanted red sauce on my BBQ chicken pizza. And to top it off they had just put it in the oven. I will never get pizza on a sunday from here again. Very unhappy.”

“What started off as a sad and somber day with the funeral for my grandmother ended with a very high note: after the visiting hours we gathered at Cappola's Restaurant in Hyde Park. This is a spot my family has been going to for generations. Well, when I was a kid I got dragged to some family function 20 years ago that I was very bored at. I wound up scraping plates and working in the kitchen that day (I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time.) I latched onto John Cappola's arm and was given a full tour of the restaurant, $5 cash for helping out, and a life experience that I will never forget! John and I took some pictures that day, I asked him to autograph a menu for me, and I decided I wanted to go into the restaurant business. He talked me out of it, which I was quite glad he did because I wound up going into coins and antiques a few years later. John, you showed me that day the value of hard work, the concept of what the American dream is all about, and how to hustle in business. Interestingly enough, John said he wondered what had happened to me just a couple of days prior to today! John's family started this legendary restaurant on Main Street in Poughkeepsie back in 1961. They subsequently went to open the restaurant in Hyde Park where he and his brothers still run it today. "Cappola's: a Hudson Valley Tradition Since 1961!" Thank you for mentoring me and showing me the restaurant game that day. I look forward to seeing you again soon!”

“Genuinely great stuff. The pricing is fair and the pizza good. It mimicks new haven style, just with a softer crust. The pizza has that cheese that slides right off which is a personal favorite. And their boneless chicken wings are definitely worth it. The variety and options make ordering so easy as theres something for everyone.
Definitely get the canzone, theg give you a big serving of sauce (unlike some places that skimp on it) and its definitely enough to share.”
