“What started off as a sad and somber day with the funeral for my grandmother ended with a very high note: after the visiting hours we gathered at Cappola's Restaurant in Hyde Park. This is a spot my family has been going to for generations. Well, when I was a kid I got dragged to some family function 20 years ago that I was very bored at. I wound up scraping plates and working in the kitchen that day (I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time.) I latched onto John Cappola's arm and was given a full tour of the restaurant, $5 cash for helping out, and a life experience that I will never forget! John and I took some pictures that day, I asked him to autograph a menu for me, and I decided I wanted to go into the restaurant business. He talked me out of it, which I was quite glad he did because I wound up going into coins and antiques a few years later. John, you showed me that day the value of hard work, the concept of what the American dream is all about, and how to hustle in business. Interestingly enough, John said he wondered what had happened to me just a couple of days prior to today! John's family started this legendary restaurant on Main Street in Poughkeepsie back in 1961. They subsequently went to open the restaurant in Hyde Park where he and his brothers still run it today. "Cappola's: a Hudson Valley Tradition Since 1961!" “I've only had the Pizza so far (take out) but can say it's always been great“

“I'm not easily impressed but Joseph's Italian Steakhouse really hit a home run on all levels. Best Prime Rib I've ever had, so tasty and cooked perfectly. The sides we equally delicious which elevated my whole experience. The hospitality was superb and judging by the looks on other patrons' faces, I assume others had a similar experience.“

“Hyde Park pizza place has very good pizza more often than not. Wings were a hit but now they are overcooked. This past Sunday however I ordered BBQ chicken pizza and when I arrived 30 minutes later, they all didn't know where my pizza was. They asked if I wanted red sauce on my BBQ chicken pizza. And to top it off they had just put it in the oven. I will never get pizza on a sunday from here again. Very unhappy.“

“Genuinely great stuff. The pricing is fair and the pizza good. It mimicks new haven style, just with a softer crust. The pizza has that cheese that slides right off which is a personal favorite. And their boneless chicken wings are definitely worth it. The variety and options make ordering so easy as theres something for everyone.
Definitely get the canzone, theg give you a big serving of sauce (unlike some places that skimp on it) and its definitely enough to share.“

“We reached about about a week and a half before our wedding to see if they had any times available for 25 people for a rehearsal dinner on a Friday in June (super last minute). They were extremely accommodating and placed us at two tables in the room on the second floor. Everything came out super fast, and they were really accommodating with gluten-free meals for some of our guests. We absolutely loved our meal here, and hope to come back again!“

“First time here for a private party and i cannot say enough great things about not only the food but the staff also. By far one of the best upcoming restaurants in the Hudson valley. The pizza was so flavorful, fresh with perfect crust n that’s coming from someone whose family owned pizzeria for years. Another must have is the house made penelle which aside from my nonna making it I’ve never had in any restaurant. Last but not least the cannoli were some of the best I’ve had in months. “I am writing his a second time because I don't see my review I just wrote. I have been going here since I was a kid! 60+ years! I have had parties here. Even my son's first birthday 38 year ago! My union even has had pizza parties here. Best Italian food in the area! Love their pizza, their eggplant parm, and their stuffed zucchini blossoms. My family loves their raviolis and even the chicken parm!! Never had a bad pizza or meal there!!!! I even live their salad with homemade dressing!!!! Can't go wrong!!! “Touch of Naples is by far the best pizza in the Hudson Valley. Anyone who thinks differently is unfortunately wrong. I’ve been going here for 38 years and the quality has always been unbelievable. Their old style Sicilian and grandma pizzas are amazing. The giant slice is a great value. And the selection of different slices at the counter is fantastic. Awesome staff very friendly reasonable prices. They don’t deliver, you know why… They’ve never needed to. It’s worth going there.“

We came down to this town after visiting Art Omi (an hour away), and stayed a night at a hotel nearby before heading back home. We researched and found many other pizza places in the town, and there are too many that looks good that it's hard to decide. So we asked the front desk lady at the hotel and she recommended is this spot.. so we tried!

I'm so glad we went with her recommendation, Pizzeria Bacio is SO good! It's the classic NYC pizza but with labor and love that you can taste. The soup already blew me away - all vegs are hand cut to cubes, the soup is not having too much flavors that's odd, but a cooked well yet not over cooked vegs and pasta soup. The margarita pizza is so well balanced. The dough is light, airy but bottom crust is crisp, the sauce is very neutral yet works well with the cheese being thinly cut, and the basil is spread evenly you can taste it every bite! We also got the lasagna and it's also not heavy at all! Real mozzarella cheese, perfectly al dente pasta, and the meat sauce is not heavy yet saucy.
Cannoli is not hard shell (like the fake, pre baked ones) and the filling is not cream but an actual cannoli filling!! Maybe I'm too dramatic for having real Italian and NY pizza...but sometimes even in the state of NY you don't get this quality! You can tell they made everything in house without cutting corner!

We did take out but the server at front was nice, and we can tell it would be nice to dine in. It was somewhat busy on a Friday night.

“We all arrived hungry to a shockingly full parking lot. As an ex-industry person I can say we got our table touched 20 times here which was nice, but actually as a diner maybe a bit too much especially if the table touches didn't result in the proper service. It was a dark and stormy spring Saturday night, we arrived at 630, a half hour early for our reservation but were seated promptly. It took zero minutes for who appeared to be the bartender to ask us for our drink orders, while she remembered the wine and bourbon orders she forgot my hot tea even after we had a whole conversation about it. When our actual waitress arrived I had to reorder the tea and the timing on the warm up had about already passed. That being said I often order hot tea before dinner and it was pretty awesome that the hot water came in a separate metal mini kettle along with the tiniest tea cup in North America. It reminded me of Europe actually the tea cup was sooo small, maybe 4oz but the kettle had another 24oz of super hot water for me which kept me very happy throughout the meal.

I didn't get my honey with it though even though I ordered it twice with two people now. I was about to have to ask for the honey when the bartender ran it over before I could but then... no spoon. Not a spoon anywhere on the table actually, I gave up and used my fork for the night in the tea. When we were approached and my 80+yr old mother began to order our mains the waitress cut her off and left mid order bc she said the kitchen was calling her. Huge no-no as far as Im concerned, this alone looses them one star forget about the tea.

When she came back we were all happy to learn we all got salads and sides with our entrees, I ordered the schnitzel which was our entire impetus for the visit as I consider myself somewhat of a schnitzel connoisseur. My gf tried to sub mushrooms for her side but when it arrived the waitress had added it as an add'l side and gave her zucchini even though she didn't order it and I witnessed them having a conversation about it.

Our salads all came drowning in dressing with one rock hard tomato, at first I thought it was a full reddish, I love dressing but this was a lot even for me; the dressing was actually really good but strongly recommend ordering dressing on the side at this restaurant. I also got the rice which was very good. The schnitzel came in two pieces with more salad, kind of, just arugula and tomatoes not mentioned on the menu now no dressing haha.

Definitely one of the greasiest schnitzels I've had in all my days which was even more noticeable after I gobbled both of them down with a pool of oil left over on my plate. After being served our entrees we got 7 table touches from various people within 5 minutes. This was a lot, too much as we were finally all just wanting to eat. I didn't ever mention the late tea, missing spoon or drowning salad.

Overall everyone was lovely, the restaurant was nice and (dad had no complaints so) we were happy with our overall experience even though they seemed to be having a giant other party in the other room the whole time; unfortunately I just can't give them 5 stars“

“MADISON'S PIZZA CAFE in the heart of Pleasant Valley is a warm and friendly place with great pizza and many other dine in or take out menu options. There's a definite local neighborhood vibe here and the owners and staff make you feel like family. I will be back soon to work my way through that fun menu“

“Not one to typically leave reviews but this place really deserves it! Long story short this was my second time ordering there and when I arrived they accidentally misheard my order over the phone (most likely my fault due to poor service) and the gentleman I spoke to was very cool, professional and polite! He immediately sprung into action to make the correct order which didn’t take long…Food is 10/10 just like the first time and I would highly recommend anyone to check it out if you haven’t already!!“
