Nice spot to have a bite, but it'll cost you. I got a lobster roll and fries and it came to $35.

We had reservations for six of us 5:30 on Sunday. The place was empty in the dining area. We unfortunately could not be seated in the enclosed deck area overlooking the lake because only parties of two or four were seated out there. What a shame as the views were stunning. I chose to order two appetizers for my dinner since I was not very hungry. I ordered the Original Tapas tray and the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom. My Honey ordered the Beet Salad. My Tapas consisted of three of Crab Rangoon, Fried Pork Dumplings and several Grilled Marinated Bourbon Steak and all were all very good. The Stuffed Portobello Mushroom was even better. Very tasty indeed. My Honey did not enjoy her Beet Salad as much, as her experience this time did not meet her expectations/memories of when she had before. Also there was not enough beets for her. The rest of our party seemed to enjoy the Grilled Prime Rib, the Salmon and Veal very much. Our server Alexis was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The gentleman that seated us didn't seem very friendly nor enthusiastic but that did not deter us. The place started receiving more diners as the evening went on. The adjacent room had a large private party celebrating a special occasion. The dinner was very Delicious and if we were able to be seated on the enclosed deck I would have given then a five rating. We were very happy with our choices and we recommend.

We were greeting by the host with "I have to let you know, we do not accept walk ins." We had reservations. A $50. deposit is required when making a reservation. We got our drinks quickly. Sat for 35 minutes until I called out to a passing waitress "may we have some bread?" We were in a lovely private room, with our party of 7. Food was served after 80 minutes. Everyone said it was OK, but me. I was informed that my medium rare prime rib would be grilled. It was medium well, very dry, burned on the edges. The glazed carrots were very good. The smashed potatoes had no skins. I suspect they were instant with some garlic added. Total bill, with bottle of wine and 2 beers, $250. plus tip.

Visited with my family for a late lunch after hiking. We ordered a small pizza, 2 orders of wings and 2 beers. When the wings came out the were absolutely BLACK. I couldn’t believe that the cook would think those were acceptable to send out to someone or that the waitress would think there were ok to put in front of someone. My husband’s were less black than mine and he ate his, except for one that looked like a piece of charcoal. I took mine up to the bar and said I could not eat them. Of course, the next wings that came out were rubbery and slimy, also inedible. They were also $14.50 per 10. At one point I could hear the waitress and the (manager??) talking about the wings. “Who the f*#! Wants to eat black wings!” The pizza was fine. Hot, cheesy. Not nearly as good as they advertise it to be. They comped our drinks because of the wings, which was nice but I literally went away without eating lunch because the food was so awful.

The house salad was mostly the white part of romaine. The sole stuffed with crab and shrimp was bland with a gloppy sauce. The wine list is very fair as to range and price. We sat for more than 20 minutes before we were even able to order a drink. This despite the 'host' had nothing else to do. They had one server for the more than 40 covers that I counted.

Five of us dined here and were excited to be at such a lovely, classic looking Adirondack resort - big disappointment. First of all, the service was terrible - our dinner took two hours only because we waited soooo long for our meal - we did not order an appetizer, and nothing else was available (no bread, rolls, anything) until our meal came. Once the meals came, a prime rib that was supposed to be well done was very rare! One person asked for a condiment and it arrived long after the request and when it was no longer needed! Same with ordering an extra drink - came too late! And the place was not even busy - about 4 other tables had guests. The food was good, but not very good - not worth the prices! I understand college age staff disappear after summer is over, but any good restaurant would take this into account when taking reservations - and as I said, it really wasn't even that busy - just uninspired staff I think!

We had dinner at the Woods Inn for my husband's birthday. Excellent food! The Adirondack Field & Stream was incredible. Would definitely recommend! Excellent views at sunset!

After reading some reviews about poor service I was sceptical about going. However our experience was great! We had reservations at 7 for six people. One of our party was wheelchair bound. We were seated right away and our server was there in minutes. Our table was on the deck and had a perfect view of the sunset. Drinks and food were delivered in a timely fashion and was delicious. I had the rack of lamb and it was cook perfectly. Definitely recommend this place.

My family (myself, parents and son) and 2 guests dined outside on the porch on Tuesday, July 25. Overall the food was very good as usual, service was decent and there we felt safe (server was wearing a face shield, the tables were cleaned and propertly distanced, etc). The problem occured a few days later. On Friday, they posted on their FB page that an employee tested postive for covid and that they were shutting down (the vague post has since been taken down). I was obviously concerned for my parents who are in their late 70s and I needed to tell something to the parents of the two guests we brought (who were under 18). Did the employee work in the kitchen, was it a sever or someone who maintained the property or cleaned the rooms? What was the potential exposure to our party? Should I be tested, do I quarantine and what do I tell the people who I interacted with over the last several days? A void of information and many unanswered questions about a potentially very serious situation. I contacted Woods Inn and the phone was not answered. The next day on a local Facebook page, I posted about what happened and began interacting with management (via the comment feature), specifically the gentleman who posted on the Woods Inn Facebook page. He refused to provide any additional information and referred me to the County Health Department (it was closed as it was Saturday). Obviously the employee's identity who tested positive needs to remain confidential, but in my opinion, a retail establishment has a duty to provide better information to their patrons. If you want repeat business, pay attention to your guests after you swipe their credit card. I will take my business elsewhere.

Restaurant did not meet expectations. Used app to book reservations even though we are staying there as we have little confidence in the on-hand staff to record requests on the basis of the prior interactions we’ve had with the staff. Requested outside seating at 730pm via the app which the outside req was new info to the hostess. Albeit should not not Be surprising request given the view coupled with the COVID environment. Overheard the staff saying “only an hour and half left” at 730pm, and we began to sense the impending doom. Hostess told us to wait and she’d find us as they were hoping to clear an outside table soon. When we checked back in 40 mins later, she had thought we left. While still waiting, a guest who had been waiting 2 hours for food notified her server her party was leaving. Resetting tables was disorganized and we were again forgotten in the mix. In and around this same time, other inadequately informed patrons were standing around... embarrassing for us, others waiting, seated guests, and perhaps maybe even the staff. We bailed at 840pm. I really don’t think anyone cared, and if our departure had been noticed, would have likely been seen as a relief to the staff. While sitting in our room we overheard the menu shortages that we had anticipated. We’ve been coming here for about 7 years and the service has always been “iffy”. Having read the proprietor’s other responses, I’m doubtful this review will be viewed as constructive to the Inn...but hopefully it will be for readers. In total, it’s very unfortunate given a location with such potential.

It is a very nice old hotel. Very clean dinning area. We were inside but there were outdoor tables that are great for a view of the lake that is beautiful. The food was excellent and very not run of the mill. It was quiet and beautiful
