You could close your eyes and pick anything at Red Barn Bakery and it would be AMAZING!

I'm into fitness and when I take a break from the ol' diet, I'm going to make it count and get some Red Barn Bakery pies in my system before the bathroom scale knows what's happening. :-)

One of our favorite places to go when we are back in town. Baked goods are incredible. Appreciate the amount of vegan baked goods. Breakfast items are tasty. Great coffee and tea.

The Red Barn Bakery is a quaint and charming restaurant with a counter to order at and a small indoor seating area with wooden tables and an outdoor patio. Unfortunately, the enjoyment of the cuteness and charm did not carry over to the food. We tried two vegan and gluten free muffins. The morning glory muffin was dry and completely crumbled as we tried to eat it. The carrot cake muffin had a delicious frosting but sadly, the muffin was hard to cut as it appeared to be frozen and never really softened as it sat out. The taste was fine but the texture of the muffin was off putting. When we asked the server about it, she said that their refrigerator was having difficulty and was too cold. Neither muffin seemed freshly baked (and based on the server’s comment about the refrigerator, they were obviously not freshly baked, which was surprising because we were there when the bakery opened in the morning!) We also tried the açaí bowl, which is typically one of our favorite breakfast items. It does come with a drizzle of honey that can be left off if you do not consume honey. The açaí was quite soupy and the vegan granola on top was not tasty. The raisins were very hard and the coconut was just not enjoyable. I had high hopes for my latte with almond milk. I had several options for nondairy unsweetened milk, which made me very happy. However, my latte was served lukewarm warm and had a lot of foam, which is typically in a cappuccino not a latte. My overall experience was just “meh” ☹️ Updated from previous review on 2025-09-14

Gluten Free options abound here and all are delicious..the scone was the best I’ve ever had and was filling enough for breakfast. The veggie scramble was also delicious. The non-gluten meals and desserts are equally as tasty according to my friends. Everything is displayed with a beautiful aesthetic sense. I love this place and make it a point to always come here when visiting friends in Irvington. Red Barn is a wonderful café…and for those with Celiac ..a godsend.

Nice little place. Great food and great atmosphere. Bit pricey, hence the reason for the 4-stars but otherwise a really good spot. The place was also really hopping on a Sunday morning.

Celiac safe. I was emotionally overwhelmed with how many options I had. Cheesecake. Scones sweet and savory. Macaroni and cheese. Brunch options. Cute little corner of the waterfront area. Plenty of parking for somewhere so close to the train station. Very friendly staff. Excellent

Super cute bakery/cafe with tons of gluten free baked goods and a lot of vegan options too. Also, the regular baked goods look awesome. Food/cafe menu, ice cream and a cute outdoor seating area.

The pastries were good but the server didn’t know how to make a flat white nor a long espresso

Some good items like the blueberry scones, but the place suffers from a lack of supervision.
Prices can be high & service is lacking.

Only a few tables inside, but everyone is so kind and welcoming. The food is A-MAZING! We chose both a vegan and non-vegan lunch, and both did not disappoint. The muffins/desserts alone are worth the trip! Will be back

A magical destination when I need a break from the city, Red Barn is charming and welcoming. The food is just amazing – decadent sweets, lovely savory treats. I love eating breakfast here then gathering a bag of goodies to bring back to the city. Randall’s soups are so healthy and delicious! I try to keep some on hand for a perfect dinner that’s ready in just a few minutes.
In nice weather, it’s a real treat to eat outside by the river. The peace, quiet, gorgeous setting and yummy + healthy food restore my body and spirit.
Thanks Randall + Red Barn!
