This is a wonderful go-to restaurant with a killer view of the Hudson River. Warmer months provide outside seating, which gets you closer to the water. A little pricey, but the food and preparation are wonderful.
server needed to be better at communicating with guests and not be so brief and disconnected with guests needs.
The food is always excellent and the views of the river, bridge, NJ and Manhattan are spectacular.
Staff called me to confirm and asked if we could be upstairs. I said no and that my mom walks with a walker. They put us at a table where there was room for the walker close by. The table was perfect and service fantastic.
Terrible service. Not allowed to order an appetizer with wine while deciding on main course. Told we had to order everything at once. During meal removed husband's wineglass w/o provocation. Never asked wife if she wanted a second glass of wine. Wished us a happy anniversary with mini-biscotti while handing us a happy birthday card. Had not been there since Mr Patterson owned it. Will never go back
The view alone is worth a visit but the food and service are also very good and worth the trip!
Our entire experience at Red Hat, from the hostess and host, to servers, the delicious food, restaurant setting and ambiance, was superb! Can't wait to return!
Food was delicious and being seated upstairs made for a quieter evening, easy to hear our dinner companions. Will definitely return.
The meals were flavorful. I was looking forward to having mussels but they were so tiny and difficult to grab with the small fork. Frites were great as usual. Service was a bit slow because everyone seemed to arrive at once.
Lovely as always. Professional service with a smile. Tasty and nicely prepared and presented food. Relaxed and comfortable environment. I highly recommend Red Hat OTR.

Went with a group. The waitstaff was amazing. Efficient, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Food was wonderful.
We had a corner table so the noise level was perfect for us. Food was delicious. Good service, great evening.
Had a great lunch. From the apple martini made with real apples, to the excellent burger, to the delicious key lime pie, all fantastic. Can't beat the location on the Hudson. Though we live in Edgewater NJ, this will be a go to place for sure.
The Red Hat has a lovely location along the river and attractive interior. It has been around for years and seems very popular but I don't know why. I think the menu is boring, the portions small, food mediocre and the service lackadaisical. For what they give you, I think their prices are outrageously high. They won't see me again.
When it comes to ambiance, view and service, Red Hat always delivers. My friend and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch. The menu is fairly traditional. I had a tasty burger with fries. My friend had the Caesar salad topped with a fried egg. She said it was very well prepared. It's a lovely place to meet up with old friends.
