March 2018 was the last time I ate at Zarrillis deli. When Kenny sold the business and Steve left, a part of me and the Village of Irvington left. Sorry, but this deli made a full 180 degree turn ( for the worse )

this place is under new ownership. right away i could tell that the new people just don't care about maintaining the friendly atmosphere that the previous owners had created. when i got my sandwich it was much smaller than what i was used to at zarrillis, not only that, it seemed that the quality had gone down with the size of the sandwich. no fresh hot food either. i give this place a huge FAIL! i will never go back

I am being kind giving them two stars, as I want to be charitable as the ownership is new. That said, the food was awful: my tacos were greasy and cold, and not particularly well spiced. And the service was plain terrible. The two ladies at the counter spent more time arguing about how to fold the top of the bag and couldn't figure out how to count my change (it was $2.73, not exactly stochastic processes or advanced calculus), while my cold food got colder. I miss the previous management, and will not be returning.

This place used to be one of my favorite places. It featured overstuffed sandwiches and great prices. But for some reason about a month ago the quality and size of the offerings went down considerably. I was disappointed the last two times I visited.

Popped into town looking at real estate, had to get a bite after a 4 hour drive.excellent lunch, right out front, fruit, sandwich made to order. Cute little town, might move here someday. Look down the hill to the Hudson, and over the metro north train station. Take your lunch to go, and eat at the park down below, not dog friendly but a beautiful spot if you left fur face at home.

Great local staple for the Irvington community. I'm sure to stop here when I can for breakfast or lunch. Their breakfast sandwiches are great to say the least. Bacon is always cooked to perfection. Lunch, both hot and cold sandwiches are filling and delicious. There's always people here even during the off hours, but the friendly staff will casually talk to customers and get the food out quickly. Main Street parking is tight at times, but definitely worth the stop at Zarilli's.

This deli does not wear gloves while they make your food. I asked them to wear gloves and was told they" use clean hands, not dirty gloves" I asked them to use clean disposable gloves and was told the law does not require it. These guys handle money and put pencils behind their ears. They gruffly said theyd be happy to cancel my order. I went across the street and got a great Indian takeout.

Don't bother. Breakfast is mediocre at best, inedibly messy and wrapped in paper so it gets nice and cold in about 3 minutes, so if you want to peel the paper off your egg-and-cheese, microwave it and eat it with a knife and fork, that's your business, but I don't recommend it if you actually have someplace to go. On top of that, 3 eggs and cheese and an underwhelming break-room coffee is $8.50, or at least it was for the new guy, whose name and order they don't know by heart, so I assume they don't really care about new repeat customers. Head up the street to La Familia on South Broadway.
