This has to be the WORST matcha I have ever had. After asking what was in one of their specialty drink and the woman couldn’t tell me… I was like ok I’ll play it safe. I watched the woman just dump matcha powder in a cup and pour hot milk over it. No mixing to break down any of the powder/ clumps. For $7 I’ll just go to Starbucks.

I walked into this coffee shop when it was completely empty, expecting at least some basic service. Instead, the workers stood behind the counter chatting with each other and never acknowledged me. No greeting, no “I’ll be right with you,” nothing. I stood there waiting while they continued their conversation as if I wasn’t even there. If this is how they treat customers when it’s slow, I can’t imagine what it’s like when they’re busy. Really disappointing experience, I won’t be coming back.

The guy at the register couldn’t be bothered to even look at me while taking my order. Didn’t say a word to me the entire time. I wouldn’t even call it a coffee shop. He made me milk over ice and put a super small shot of espresso in the drink. The drink was white (barely any coffee in it). A large latte is over $7 and it was all milk and a half shot of espresso. Terrible.

East Rock rocks my mornings with their well-created coffee and great selection of pastries. I would ask for Tiana for a coffee made with experienced knowledge of coffee and love.
It’s more expensive than most places with both food and drinks. I have really had a hit or miss scenario with East Rock Coffee each time I’ve been here (again, both with food and drink). This is more of a “treat yourself” kind of place in my eyes with the prices. But with not being able to definitely know things will come out tasting great, I stopped coming here.

Love this place !!! We had a time ! Came on a Saturday to celebrate a quiciañera, the food, the vibes the music was perfect ! Very clean place and super friendly staff ❤️ highly recommend!!!
