Stuffy and pretentious, not worth the money, there are much better steak houses!

The place is fine and the front of house staff is nice, but 1. The they didn't refill my empty water glass the whole night, even when paying. They didn't miss asking if I wanted another cocktail, 2. My dad asked for the chop steak, which is easy for him to eat, and the waiter claimed they couldn't make it. My dad said it's just hamburger meat, grind a filet. The waiter walked into the kitchen, came back and said no. Why have it on the menu? If it were up to me we all would have walked out. My dad is too nice. He didn't like the stroganoff, ordered as a 2nd choice, as it tasted too vinegary. The staff could be a little more accommodating given the $1,000+ bills. I won't be back unless I have to be. Why go out of the way?
made an 8PM reservation, at 9:15 we walked out, still not seated, had 3 drinks waiting for the table, a waiter brushed by me and my drink spilled on him he was rude and nasty, go to Ruths Chris instead, when you make a reservation there, there is only a 15 minute wait window one other thing, do you think jimmy Hayes is happy that Franks went out of business?

They profile my family and I, as soon as we walk in.
My son was wearing a hat and they were rude in telling him to remove it.
He would have remove it then we noticed someone else wearing one and they didn't tell him to remove it.
What the hell!

They gave me A table in front of the kitchen and the servers coming out of the restaurant bumped into our chairs a couple of times and the service was lackluster because we ordered a steak for two and we’re not served the steak we had to serve ourselves. Jimmy Hayes is a gentleman, he corrected my issues.

This is the true definition of high class. From the moment you walk in, the staff welcomes you like royalty—it instantly makes you feel like you’ve stepped somewhere divine. The atmosphere is elegant, yet warm and inviting, the kind of place that makes every visit feel special.
The menu is absolutely amazing. Honestly, the steak is incredible, but it’s not even the best part—the appetizers truly steal the show. The lobster bisque tastes like gold, it’s rich and flavorful, the mac and cheese is perfectly creamy, and the creamed spinach is the ultimate indulgence. Every bite is a delight, and it’s clear the kitchen puts love into every dish.
If you’re looking for a place that makes you feel elevated, where every meal feels like an event, Jimmy Hays Steakhouse is it.

They charge $125 a plate for parties and $4 a slice to cut cake you bring in. The prices are ridiculous and unreasonable.

What a fabulous steak house. From walking in the door to leaving after dinner it was truly a welcoming experience. The atmosphere was warm, cozy and relaxing. It was our first time to Jimmy Hays. We ordered the Rib Eye for two and the Shrimp Hays, side of spinach for 3 to share. Both dinners were perfectly cooked, served hot and the service was outstanding by the waiter. I love that when we finished our dinner, the bus was attentive and cleared our dishes immediately without making us feel rushed. Thank you for a wonderful evening with my son and his gf.

Was dying to try jimmy hays n so unfortunate, we came for my hubbys 66 th birthday. Were greeted very enthusiastically by manager? Were seated in a beautiful cushioned seat n then left forgotten. Mind you it was a Monday nite. Not packed bt, busy. We were given bread n water n left at table for over 15-18 mins. We saw it was short staffed bt , then a 30 something couple was seated not far from us n within 5 mins of their sitting? Menus were brought to them first!!!!! R u kidding me? I told my hubby let’s go n never return!!!! We are in our 60’s, we’ were guna start w an 85 dollar bottle of wine? I wonder if that young couple were going to spend more or less? I guess that doesn’t matter bc , we choose to get up n leave. I will never give an establishment my money if they serve someone after we were sitting quietly n patiently for 15-20 mins wout even asking us what wine or drink we want? And, then have staff serve anyone , regardless of their age, first if they arrived after us by a good 10 mins. Ridiculous. I will stick w George martins, Peter Lugers, Morton’s or franks.

Great steak house for the south shore. Better than most but not like the north shore.

A local friend brought me to Jimmy Hays in Long Beach to show off what was supposed to be a top-tier dining experience. While the food was good, the service—specifically from John the bartender—left a lasting negative impression and overshadowed the evening.
When I asked if he could make me a mocktail, he scoffed, first offered seltzer water then said, “I could pour you some juice in a wine glass.” It was rude, dismissive, and completely unnecessary. What made it worse was watching him warmly engage with other customers, offering them the evening’s specials and treating them with the kind of courtesy we were denied.
For the price point and reputation of this restaurant, the service should reflect professionalism and respect. The customer may not always be right, but they should always feel welcome. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.
