Lovely diner on the South Shore of Long Island. Always so festive, and never a complaint on the food. The staff is very friendly and always asking how you are doing. Family owned and run for generations. At times coffee needs to be made fresh but other than that four stars for sure. Great place to hold small to mid size parties. Reasonable prices across the menu.

I have loved Oconee Diner since a very young age as my grandparents were taking us here when I was a child.I had a great experience yesterday as I ordered brunch with friends.Food was amazing, service was impeccable to the utmost standards and I would recommend the Oconee to anyone!

I was so looking forward to get a chance to eat here.I was with a large party. Waiters were a little overwhelmed. Food was ok. Well done meat. The desserts were stale. Eclairs tasted old the taramesu was nasty. Not satisfied at all. Will not return. Was very surprised and disappointed.

The food was very disappointing. It's not that hard to make a Rueban sandwich. The bread was soggy, and it looks like they just threw a load of slop onto two pieces of bread. I couldn't even eat it without the whole thing falling apart. Another strange thing is that the food was served about two minutes after we finished ordering. To me, it seems like they rushed. My boyfriend ordered a burger and couldn't finish it without feeling nauseous. He said it had a strange flavor and could not take another bite. The service wasn't great. Although the waitress was friendly, she hardly gave us enough time to decide what drinks to order. The atmosphere felt like a fever dream. The lighting was giving me a headache. The decorations along with the weird food just made the whole dining experience feel like a bad LSD trip. I wouldn't recommend eating here, unless you want a weird spooky experience.

Wow! I recently moved my business to Main Street in Islip and tried this diner for the first time. I only ordered pancakes and these were THE best pancakes I've ever had! (And I've had *lot* of pancakes!) Our server was wonderful and man, was this place DECORATED! (Easter was just around the corner when we visited) They were very busy during our visit yet our food came to the table as if we were the only ones there. SO LOOKING FORWARD to making this Diner a regular stop! (Ooooh, and I just noticed that I am Google Review number 3,333! Yaaay!)
