This was one of the best meals I have ever had. We were only in ithaca for one day and went here. The service was super quick and everyone was very nice. we ordered too much food so they helped us pack up and even gave us extra rice. it was a great time and couldn’t recommend it more

Kimchi is the definition of hospitality. The staff are kind and knowledgeable they really want you to order an item you will enjoy and they are happy help you find it. We were visiting Ithica for a few days and loved to food so much we came back to the place twice. If you are in the area this place is a must try. All the food is authentically Korean and its wonderful.

Place was AMAZING. Extremely large portions for what you pay and the staff is the nicest people I have ever met. Wish I lived closer so I could continue to come.

“An all-weather Korean barbecue restaurant with delicious kimchi”

My philosophy on the globalization of Korean food, which I wrote about in my previous review of a Korean restaurant in Ithaca, remains strong.
There is a belief that a Korean restaurant should be like a Korean restaurant, and Kimchi Restaurant in downtown Ithaca is a place that fulfills that belief to some extent.
It is said that it has been open for about 4 years, and seeing that it is similar to the time when the number of Korean students in universities increased and K-Food culture began to spread, it seems that the spread of culture should occur naturally like this.

This restaurant is the only restaurant in Ithaca that serves Korean barbecue.
So, it may be more advantageous to visit in the evening, but the wide lineup of Korean food offered at lunch is also not bad.

Since the fermented and soy taste of kimchi cannot be missing in Korean food, I tried the taste of this restaurant's kimchi carefully, and it passed the test because it was well fermented and had a refreshing fermented taste.
Since the taste matches the name of the restaurant, I feel reassured as a customer.

The stir-fried pork and steamed egg, which all Koreans will miss, are almost as good as in Korea, and the kimchi pancake is greasy, but I am satisfied that I can taste a similar taste in the United States.
The kimchi stew was disappointing because it felt cloudy, but compared to the butter kimchi stew at the previous Korean restaurant, it was worth eating.

Since this restaurant cooks a wide range of Korean dishes, including gamjatang, there is no guarantee of taste.
However, the taste seems to be at least at the level of Gimcheon, a comprehensive Korean snack, and the acidity of fermentation can be felt in the kimchi, which suggests that the restaurant has at least an understanding of and courtesy toward Korean food.

thank god.

PS: This restaurant sells ramen.

since we were not from the area, we googled for nearby Restaurant . and we are glad that we chose kimchi for our best meal in Ithaca. the restaurant was bit busy but we got the seat outside as we desired. we have a stroller with my baby ,so it was convenient with spacious seating. i was lil hesitant about the food and busy atmosphere in the beginning. thankfully , the ajumma who served us very nice and food came in time. we ordered ramen , bibimnyengmeon , sundubu jjigae , japche and korean style fried chicken. surprisingly portion were huge , ramen and japche came with lots of veggies . sundubu came in bigger bowl than usual one. seriously , i have been to many korean restaurant and their portion was the biggest. we had to pack our chicken as our stomach was so full. she even gave us extra rice in the end. lovely ajumma who interacted with us. also she gave us lots of extra side dishes.will definitely come back if come to ithaca again. (i visited this restaurant with my family last month, really enjoyed our time there so i came back to write here.?)
