A friend suggested this place for good hand pies. She was not kidding. They are absolutely delicious. I only had the sweet pies, but there was a nice variety of savory ones as well.

There is a handicap parking spot close to the building off the street.

Just tried Mama Said Hand Pies for the first time… I started with a maple cold brew. It was made like the employee really cared that I enjoyed it - carefully combined and stirred and not overpacked with ice like other places do so that you only get a few sips of coffee before it’s a cup of ice left. And the cold brew itself was very smooth. Then I got the spinach egg and cheese hand pie. I initially thought they looked kind of small but they’re super filling so I was pretty full after one. The flavor was so good and the crust was fresh and buttery and crispy. I also got the sausage gravy and egg hand pie which was heavenly. And even though I was completely stuffed after two, I did try the cherry hand pie and loved the almond glaze on top of it. Can’t wait to go back to try the other flavors!

I stopped by Mama Said Hand Pies this past weekend with my Gluten Free friend, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options in the store, savory and sweet, GF and not GF. I got the Japanese Beef Curry and a Blueberry Lemon hand pie, my friend got the empanada, and we both loved our food! The dough was perhaps a tiny bit dry, but they were both reheated and packed with flavor!

A nice local shop with a few savory and sweet hand pie items. I had the lemon-blueberry hand pie. This is definitely an item you’ll want to enjoy right after it’s made, perhaps in the morning. I got mine in the afternoon and it had a harder shell. Possibly if you place it in an oven or toaster oven at home it softens it up. The flavor was nice inside. The outside was a bit sweeter for my taste.

I was visiting Ithica one day strolling and came upon the alley that this spot is in. Cute little area. I got the Apple hand pie for later - I finally ate it TWO DAYS later and it was incredible. What I’m saying is they keep. And I wish I would have ordered everything that was left in the case.

Such a fantastic place. The cafe in Ulysses is a hidden gem. Love the hand pies but they also have an assortment of cookies, pastries, and other sweet treats. Don’t pass up on eating here!

The people who work here are so incredibly nice, and the food is amazing!
