We got delivery and they were prompt and food still hot. The Chickpea stew was yummy and so was the tofu bites. Chocolate cake was good but over priced.

I rarely leave a review, let alone, a bad one. I did not enjoy my experience here at all. The service wasn’t very welcoming, no personality, no smiles, we were approached once. The food was very small portions, very low quality, nothing was savory. The atmosphere is very old school, creaky, different plates, no vibe.I just can’t recommend this place unfortunately.

The lunch menu was small, but the food was amazing. The server was friendly and agreeable when I asked if a dish contained onions, which I dislike. He advised that the curry did contain a small amount of onions, but said that they are pureed into the sauce, and not easily noticed. He said with confidence, "this dish is so good, I would hate for you to miss it." I loved his confidence, and he was right, it was delectable! Our group all loved their meals, including the lentil soup, tofu salad, chickpea stew, and black bean burger. I love the history of Moosewood and love that they continue to serve veggie forward dishes, and clearly identify what is vegan.

This vegetarian place is top notch. Had dinner with my wife, we both had the lasagna and it was amazing. Service and atmosphere is amazing.

We booked a reservation two days in advanced and were warmly greeted when we entered the restaurant. The food:1. Lemon Tahini Broccoli2. Soup of the Day (Creamy Onion and Black Garlic)3. Lasagna4. Black Bean Burger1: The broccoli was soft and had a tang/zesty taste. For me, it was a solid 7/10!2. The soup of the day was super nice and it lived up to its name of a creamy soup. I would rate it an 8.5/103. The lasagna portion was fairly big but was quite delicious. In my opinion, the pasta part of the lasagna was cooked perfectly but the ratio of cheese to pasta was off giving it a 6/10 rating.4. The burger was quite good and the sauce that came with the potatoes was an especially great pairing. I wasn’t used to the texture of the bean patty but it still tasted great. Overall, I’d give the burger meal a 7/10.All together, the service, atmosphere, and food of Moosewood was great. This is a great option for those who are vegetarians, those with intolerances, and those who are simply looking to try something new!Vegetarian options: Wide variety of options on the menu.

Ya Yay

Black bean burger was quite good and reasonably priced, but the other portions were small in comparison to their cost. Also, the food took about 45 minutes to come out, even though there weren’t even that many customers by the end.

We booked a table at Moosewood in advance because of all the great reviews we read online. The atmosphere and the serves were nice. We tried the broccoli appetizer with sunflower seeds, which had a tasty, tangy flavor. The creamy onion and black garlic soup was amazing and the best dish of the night. The Burger had a unique taste with its special sauce and onions, but the black bean patty was too soft for our liking. The Lasagna was okay but nothing special.Overall, Moosewood was a nice experience. Some dishes were great, like the soup, while others were just okay. The service was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It’s worth a try if you’re in Ithaca and looking for vegetarian options.

First time dining at Moosewood, but we heard about it from SO many people! People from Ithaca and people who visited Ithaca. So, we had to give it a try and we came with high expectations. The first surprise was that the special was a fish. From all we've heard, Moosewood is a vegetarian restaurant. Apparently, it is a pesketarian restaurant! However, the vegetarian dishes are still the stars of the show and they were great. We had the Moroccan chickpea stew, the Strozzapreti Al Tartufo Nero, the Lasagna, and the salmon fish special. All dishes were great, but we liked the lasagna and the Strozzapreti best. For desert we had the bread pudding which was delightful and, finally(!!) not too sweet. We will be back.

I have owned Moosewood cookbooks for decades and have always wanted to go to the restaurant. My daughter goes to college in Ithaca and was able to visit the iconic restaurant. It did not disappoint! I felt nourished and inspired by their take of vegetarian dishes. As a foodie, this is a must go!

The dishes were decent, nothing special. But they were out of so many of them, even to the point of not serving coffee. Inattentive staff didn't help. For the prices and their reputation, I expect much more.I understand they're under new management. I hope they get their act together. The Moosewood legacy deserves better.
