North Star Dining Room, formerly known as Appel, has undergone changes that have transformed the dining experience for students. The food options remain largely unchanged, with popular items such as the morning omelette still available. Bright white lights, walls, and floors have replaced the quaint and comfortable atmosphere of the past, making it feel less inviting and less like home. The removal of the allergen-safe preparation area has been noted, as well as the addition of new amenities such as the "Bowl" station, which has been described as similar to Chipotle but with fewer options.
