We had a really fantastic experience here. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on our first experience with kava. The whole place has a chill vibe and he had a drink with us on our first try too.
Highly recommended, we would revisit this place next time we're in Ithaca. Boola!

Paul taught us so much about Kava, Bulah!!
I was traveling through Ithaca and a friend of mine suggested I stop in here. I’m glad I did!
It was a very quiet Thursday evening, so I spent a lot of the time speaking with one of the owners who was working behind the bar.
He was super knowledgeable about kava and I asked a lot of questions! He also gave some good insights about Ithaca as a town, which was helpful as a visitor.
My first time trying kava ended up being a great, hospitable, and relaxed experience…which seemed like the way it should be.
The place has a chill, hippy lounge vibe that works.
Whether you live in Ithaca, or are just traveling through, check this place out :)

We were expecting a coffee/tea shop, and had no prior experience with Kava. John, the cool guy behind the bar, introduced us to the culture and the proper Kava drinking etiquette. Prices are reasonable for what it is and the experience. Lots of space that is used for events, social gatherings, etc. On the day we went (Saturday) there weren't any events listed, but a decent gathering showed up. Great place to chill out and mingle.Side note: I strongly recommend dudes to not use the restroom here... Only if you're desperate...
Parking: Ample space to park, but the lot is shared with the small market shops nearby.

The Kava Loung is a unique place, home to a relaxing atmosphere and a truly special beverage called Kava. Steeped from the roots of a pepper plant in the pacific Islands, Kava is a relaxing experience (non psychoactive) that offers a respite from the trials of the day. While I enjoy the traditional Kava, bitter and earthy, with mild tounge tingling numbness, there are other options for you. Many different teas, caffinated or herbal await your discovery. This is an alcohol free alternative establishment that fosters human connection, moreso than a traditional drink bar. Not to mention, live music is played here often, and some truly stellar musicians entertain on the stage. You should stop in and feel the vibe for yourself, you'll probably end up going back many times while you're in Ithaca.
Parking: Free street parking is available after 6pm downtown in Ithaca, some of the nearby parking lots are available after 6pm also.
Kid-friendliness: This place is open to people of all ages. Lots of comfy couches to hang out on if you're stopping by after a long walk around town.
Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately the only entrance/exit that I know of involves a small flight of stairs, 10-15 steps down.

Great vibe, the kava was excellent!
I am absolutely not a fan of super loud electronic style bars so I don't review them. But this is different though; lovely service from a very kind bartender, no alcohol but kava and tea instead, live music from local bands, comfy couches, and just a very nice vibe overall.
