Today I went to shortstop. I hadn’t been there in a very long time when I arrived. I was greeted by a young lady by the name of Kristen was very helpful with my order and also did very well with making my sandwich. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to shortstop I am from the area and it’s good to see that they still have wonderful and hospitable employees

I've been stopping here for the last 2 months 1 to 2 times a month and it's excellent. Always greeted with a hello and a smile on their faces. The food is always the same quality and very fresh. The very first time I stopped a young man named Noah was working and he's the main reason I've been stopping back. This is a great place to get fresh quality food in a very timely manner!

Had a quick stop for lunch here and the ordering process was smooth and fast. You circle what you want on a ticket. The sandwiches are decent, a little saltier and tougher than expected. Their chicken noodle soup was delicious. The inside is decorated with neon signs and old-fashioned menu, making the atmosphere retro and enjoyable.

EDIT: Mike got back to me and generously sent along a gift card in addition to issuing a refund. I wish the refund process had been more straightforward and the employee who answered when I initially called had been more helpful, but they have done more than enough to make it right, which is much appreciated!
I placed an order for delivery. The delivery was missing an item. Called the store and was told that only Doordash could issue a refund. There was literally no indication that the order was even delivered through Doordash, I ended up having to call Square to request the refund. They said all they can do is file an incident report asking SS Deli themselves to approve the refund. This was a convoluted process that could have been avoided if the restaurant website itself indicated which items were unavailable so you couldn't order them in the first place.

I get my double seitan sub here literally every day, it's so easy to get a healthy meal exactly how I like it! I wouldn't know what to do without Shortstop, they're a local institution for sure. Just make this place 24/7 again someday!
Amazing sandwiches and fast service! My family has been coming here for many years. We're glad to see it's still going strong.

Shortstop Deli has been a local institution since 1978. They operate a deli counter and convenience store with a large selection of sandwiches and snacks. They use a ticket system for ordering, which can be a little confusing if it’s your first time here. What you want to do is go up to the counter and grab a ticket. If you want a regular sandwich, you’ll want the one labeled “Ithaca style sub.” They also have tickets for breakfast sandwiches (which are really delicious) and pizza subs. Once you have your ticket, mark down what you want and give the white copy to the person making sandwiches and the yellow carbon copy to the cashier to pay. They’ll call your name when your sandwich is done. I usually take mine to go and eat it in the park, but they have tables there if you want to eat inside. I really can’t recommend this place enough! The sandwiches are always delicious and you absolutely have to try their giant cookies! I’d go so far as to say that they’re the best sandwich shop in town.

Short stop deli has me short on patience. They have the most complicated ordering system. Ever. I just wanted meatball parm and a chicken parm sandwiches. I told that to the guy behind the counter and instead of taking my uncomplicated totally normal order, they make you fill out a ticket. To make it more complicated you have to fill out the right ticket. There are four. I was never a waiter and it seemed like they want the customer to do the waitstaff/ order staff job. There wasn’t a line. The place wasn’t busy. They didn’t have patience to walk us through the ordering process. Instead he knew what I was going to order before hand ( because I already told him) and said two hot sandwiches are coming up to the kitchen staff. Then they watched me struggle to figure out how to fill out the form. Was too complicated. In short,
Service was lacking.
Noting when the food came out,
The chicken parm tastes like an overgrown chicken nugget.
The sandwich wasn’t hot. I circled hot. It came luke warm at best
This place is weird. The processes are weird. Everything, weird.
